Today on Ray's 'Feud' there was the unsual question on 'how should the U.S. deal with Sadamm Hussien.'

At the end Ray wondered if the President was watching on the Washington D.C. affiliate. I realized that Bush #41 was a fan, according to Ray's 'True Hollywood Story.'

On a sort of related note I think Mark Goodson's 'Biography' show said the Eisenhowers wacthed 'Whats My Line' every Sunday night along w/ their fellow Americans

Peter Marshall said in his book that President Truman was a fan of 'Squares' in his retirtment in Missouri.

Finally just a guess but maybe President & Mrs. Reagan watched their friend Merv's 'Wheel of Fortune' after dinner on occasion in the Eighties.

Charlton Heston, who played President Andrew Jackson in The President's Lady starring Susan Hayward, guest hosted for Hal March for a week {actually, it was only for half an hour} on The $64,000 Question.
History does not record whether or not President Andrew Jackson was a game show fan. But he loved his wife very much.

Yes. Yes, it does. Plus, the President of the Cleveland City Council was {according to the onion ring maker at Burger King} a big fan of The Ohio Lottery Show--especially after Jan Jones replaced Barney Tremblay.
As for the Reagans, they were too busy making babies to give a tinker's whizz about Wheel Of Fortune. Too few colors of light back then. And points of light as well.

Yesterday's Combs' episode aired in circa December 1990, just weeks before desert storm.

I do believe Lyndon Johnson was a fan of "I've Got a Secret"; IIRC, a contestant was on with the secret "Lyndon Johnson was my teacher and he gave me a spanking once." At the end of the show Garry announced that they had just received a call from the White House inviting the contestant to meet his old teacher.

And if you read the original novel "Forrest Gump," you know that President Reagan did almost nothing but watch game shows, although "He said he didn't like Concentration because it was too confusing."

Before reading another current events question, Ray pointed to the fact that the surveys were to purposely show the viewing audience actual opinions of the U.S..

Unfortunatly, I did not get to tape the entire question (I was finding empty space). The jist of it was..."Name something Iraq would do that would justify a shooting war." Here are the top six answers from Dec. 1990.

Could you imagine the current people running "Feud" even thinking of a question like this? And could it even be possible for Karn to do this question without taking on his good-buddy persona?

Of course, it seems to me that they never tried this kind of question during the Dawson days. Perhaps they were afraid that he'd shoot his mouth off, while at least Combs would remain neutral.

Combs...neutral...? When a contestant answered "U.N. diplomacy" to "something the U.S. should do with Hussein", Ray immediatly blurted out "!WIMP!".

Ray was a Conservative. No question!
