The prime time Emmy nominations were announced yesterday.  Once again, the SAG members who announced the other major nominees (this time, Michael Imperio and Jami "PEOP-LLLLLLLEEEEEE..." Gertz) couldn't bring themselves to announce the nominees for reality/competition series, so ATAS Chairman Dick Askin did the honors:

All told, "Idol" got six nominations, "Amazing Race" and "Survivor" five.

The big awards (including the comp award) will be given out Sept. 18 on CBS.  The Creative Arts ceremony will be Sept. 11.  Hopefully, E! will televise it in one form or another.  Even more hopefully, our friend Randy West will be asked to announce again.  Good luck to all.
