Another dumb P+ rule
« on: July 19, 2005, 11:18:16 AM »
First clue of the first $200 puzzle.  First team passes.  Other team doesn't give a clue in time, so first team gives 2 clues.  The first clue given is illegal.  HOWEVER.... (Here's where the obscure rule comes in...)

Kennedy: "If in the instance where you have two clues, and you give one that's disqualified, you get one more."

Completely agree.  This rule could really be exploited to the max.   Anytime you get 2 clues, use the first one to say part of the word.  Then use the 2nd one as a real clue and it should work almost all the time.

I completely disagree with that.  I don't think this is something that could be exploited at all.  Fortunately, the number of times that a team would get two clues was not many.  I don't see why your way would work any better than to give two legitimate clues, and get two guesses.

My head hurts.  I'm trying to defend a style of play for a show that went off the air when I was two years old.

How to exploit this rule:

Clue 1:  Give an exact opposite with the appropriate inflection.  Illegal clue.
Clue 2:  Give the word "opposite".

It's not 100% perfect but it is a good way to use this rule to one's advantage.

Only if the puzzle is "Richard Gere".

I'll give you a hint. The word is the first clue in the puzzle "Kevin's penis." ;-)

I hope someone has a calculator that displays negative exponents...

ObGs: The best Password to play is a modified version of the classic show.  The best Password to watch is Plus.

<Tom Kennedy>  Let's put 'miniature' on the board.  MacLean, what is it for $100? </TK>

Brandon, save me a seat on the direct trip to Hell, preferably an aisle seat.
