New Ian Valentine Interview

Anyone have anything to say about the new Ian Valentine interview at TVgameshows.net?

I gather they have talked about a 'Match Game' revival from his comments. Also its open to speculation what classic he says they are looking at in lieu of 'Password.'

The probable pitch knowing the wrath of GSN and the market indicators of the day: Yes it's Porno Password...Password with a twist.  We play via the old format but instead of points, we play til one opponent gets stripped to nothing.

I'm guessing probably a word game or panel game.   They don't have any rights to do a Pyramid revival do they?   Perhaps they want to do a To Tell the Truth revival?   I just can't see them doing a quizzer like TJW or TTD or Card Sharks or any classic like that.  Then again, it's possible that since they can't get the classic versions of TJW and TTD, they might instead do a revival.

I don't think it would be a good idea to do a revival of Password and still have PW + and SP on the schedule because everyone is going to compare the new version to the superior network classic versions.   And who wants to see an inferior version of a classic when they can see the superior version anyday.  This is why I think they don't get Karn / Louie Family Feud.

No matter how hard they try, no one they get is going to be better than Tom Kennedy, Allen Ludden, and Bert Convy on password.   Yet if they try to do a TJW remake, it hasn't been seen on the network for years and years so there is nothing to compare it to.

Or there's always Scrabble.  Perhaps that idea is still floating around.   Come to think of it, my number 1 guess would be Scrabble.

Wow. You were doing SO well until you invoked the name of Convy.
