Enjoy lots and lots of backstage TPIR photos and other fun stuff here. And yes, I did park in Syd Vinnedge's parking spot at CBS

No.  They're only around January '87.  If CS had a full 39-week season, we're not even at the halfway point.

Actually we aren't even as far as January '87 yet.  We are somewhere around the 2nd week of December.  The episode that aired on July 22nd was the Thanksgiving episode.

That's odd. GSN: The Network For Games began running the show in early April 2005 beginning with the program originally telecast in syndication in September 1986. As this is August 2005, we should be on the shows which first played in January 1987.

I agree. By my math, the show should be somewhere around 1/14/87 (as of yesterday), give or take a week. I'm assuming the show debuted on 9/15/86. Of course, if it debuted on 9/8, then we'd be around 1/7/86. I'm guessing there were about 2 or 3 weeks worth of reruns sometime in late-1986?

Does anyone remember if Bill told viewers to watch Blockbusters?

There was also some odd skipping going on around the time the prize cards were introduced.   They introduced two new contestants but then brought back the two contestants who were on the prior Friday's show a few weeks later (Rekha was brought back because of a technical error?  Um, no, you kicked her off the show until a later date - yet she was still engaged when she returned after saying the first time she was getting married in 2 days) .

You'll notice now that the first show of a week is airing on GSN on Tuesdays.   I recall only one episode where they did an audience poll of 4th grade girls so I'm not exactly sure if that got things off the track.

Splinkynip reported that there were four weeks of first run shows that aired in SUmmer 1987, but still copyrighted 1986. These episodes had no prize cards or car round. WPVI in Philly started airing the prize cards/car round episodes two or three weeks into their run IIRC.

The two new contestants were introduced on the day the prize cards/car game was introduced, and the game in progress at the end of the previous show was thrown out. As to why they withheld the four weeks of pre-car game shows until Summer 1987 I do not know.

I think there was a Lingo marathon on Memorial Day this year, and it aired from 2-7PM, which probably explains why the first show of a week is airing on Tuesdays now. Today's CS airing should be from Dec 10, 1986. They had Xmas decorations up starting on the show airing 12/15/86, so there might be more skipping ahead come Tuesday.

Makes sense to me. Maybe GSN might have aired those four weeks, which could explain why we're about four weeks behind schedule.

Hell, it's 7:40 am, and I've been at work nearly 8 hours. Don't have time for heavy thinking. :-P

GSN aired the shows in order of taping, so the seven weeks of shows (including the 4 weeks origainally pushed off to August of 1987)without prizes aired before the the change in format.

They are currently airing shows from the week of 12/8/86.. look for the cycle to end at the end of the year,
