Lingo 2005 Season

No way this could be a spoiler as it doesn't run for close to an hour yet. Is the 7-8pm ET block of Lingo starring Chuck Woolery to be an hour of two new episodes or is it a new one and a "classic"? If they're both new, I hope more than 65 were taped. Otherwise, we'll be in Recycle City by mid-September.

Only 65 episodes were ordered.  This show really didn't get a giant vote of confidence for it's 3rd season here.  It was a shut the hell up game show fans renewal.

GSN  has NEVER ordered more than 65 episodes.  So I don't see how you can say that this shows they don't have confidence in it.  They don't put it into primetime because it skews old, but it has the next best slot.  A lead in to Millionaire which also has older viewers.  So they obviously trust it a bit more than you think.  Lead in's to primetime are $$$.   Good lead-ins can really increase ratings, as seen with news after TPiR.  I guarantee you that if TPiR is gone, ratings for the news program that follows will plummet.

By the way GSN would never do ANYTHING just to shut up some people on the message board.  They have what 140,000 viewers.  And about 20 of them post on the boards?   Yeah.... nice argument.  I don't know if you're trying to purposely piss off game show fans here with that comment or what.  I for one am glad they didn't add 2 extra dodgeball teams instead of renewing Lingo.  Dodgeball is a low ratings once a week filler show.   Talk about low confidence, Dodgeball has 1 hour a week in primetime.  And 2 hours a week at the 11pm slot.   If this show was any decent they'd be airing it 5-7 days a week.   And Ballbreakers is a disaster.  Didn't you see they already replaced a Ballbreakers marathon with a Lingo Marathon.   yeah..... low confidence for Lingo alright.   What a joke!

Funny..."The Young and the Restless" airs after TPiR here.

Wank, wank, wank....crying again because someone is dissing your beloved classics.  Too bad Alex has contact with GSN and probably would know the truth ahead of someone who thinks that:

It does here as well... AFTER a half hour of news at Noon.  And that's on all 3 regional CBS affiliates (WUSA-9 in DC, WJZ-13 in Baltimore, and WBOC-16 in Salisbury).

I think it's like that in Dallas too. Maybe it's a Central time zone thing?

As for xibit's statement, it's a non-issue in Norfolk. Our CBS affiliate was 2nd or 3rd in the noon news. And the news is sandwiched between TPiR and Y&R.

Who was #1? The station where I work. ;-)

ObGameShow: Our station aired the first three seasons of Whoopi HSq. The same CBS affiliate aired the last three.

Now celebrating his 22nd season on GSF!

Currently, Y&R airs after "Millionaire".  However, I suspect KTVT will have different plans next fall that would move "Millionaire" to 4PM and pair it with that other trivia show......uh....what's the name of it? ;)

It's like that in Memphis, too.  However, Chicago doesn't do that.  They air the news, then Y&R.  Used to be HSq for the last couple of seasons, then was it the news or Y&R?

Same here in Milwaukee.  It's probably been that way for as long as WDJT was the CBS affiliate.  (Not sure about prior to that.)

It was Y&R.  When WBBM ran HSq at 11AM, there was no midday newscast.
