A Wheel of Fortune....Birthday Cake?!

Video of the cake "in action" as odd as that sounds...

http://www.willyliliana.com/Cakes/Cakes.htm
Details on the construction of the cake, 1/4th down the page...

Alright, how much for one of these things? Look at that detail! Turning "trilons", a spinning wheel. If it were me, I wouldn't eat a piece of it, shellac the entire display and put it up for display above the fireplace...

It looked to me like the only edible portion of the display was the wheel, everything else was a prop of some kind. And the wheel would really be the easiest part to make...a little food coloring, lollipop sticks for the wheel pegs, and a lazy susan, and you're good to go.

Or candles, more than likely.

Oh, you are right. I only looked at the video, and I figured lollipop sticks because you could push them down further into the cake and it would withstand spinning better, but looking at the photo on the site, those are most definitely candles.

(And reading the essay, it appears they made use of some MAME cabinet parts to create some neat special effects to make the pointer sound a whole lot more rigid than it actual was.)

This very setup was my childhood dream. The Wheel from the Deluxe WoF game wasn't good enough.

I thought the "Wheel of Fortune" cake my friend once got for me was neat, but this is like nothing else.

How on earth did you come across this on the internet?

Whoever made that whole set-up should be WoF's new set designer! ;)

Wow.

And I still stand by my wow, because the joke, IMO, was dumb.

Mr. Lemon, with all due respect, I noticed you double-posted the above quote, and wanted to have a little harmless fun, so I hope you won't mind.

Because you didn't use the delete button.....

WHOOSH for you. (I always wanted to do that, hehe.)

James

PS: Getting back on topic, that is a cool cake.

Except I don't believe we WHOOSH for accidently clicking post twice.  We WHOOSH when people miss a joke.
