[quote name=\'aaron sica\' date=\'Aug 11 2005, 11:31 AM\']Hey, it could be worse....He could have pulled a Ryan_Conley and asked what stations across the US aired WoF in syndication since 1983......

That reminds me. If and when 50 Grand Slam returns to TV and airs in syndication, what stations will carry it and at what times? Don't be judicious. List every market. Begin at once.

And should the theme song be the Flemish national anthem, or the Mongolian?  And who will sing it? :)

[quote name=\'kurtinrod62\' date=\'Aug 11 2005, 11:03 AM\']I remember the Tufeld-voiced promos for WOF[Or,"Wheel Of Torture", as one of my brothers likes to call it, because he hates that show] when KDKA/2 aired it in the late afternoon back in the mid-80s, when WPXI/11 took the show in '87, the "Wheel Watcher" ads aired.

Any reason why Tufeld would voice a WOF promo and not Jack Clark? Also, Alex(on the first season J! set) and Pat and Vanna(on the WOF set) did a promo in Summer 1985 for KDKA's moving J! from 9AM to 5PM EST(right before WOF)

One I can think of is Dick Tufeld's voice is much more enthusiastic. To my ear, Jack didn't use an announcer-type delivery on WOF as he did on The New $25,000 Pyramid. It was much more "I'm the nice guy next door. Let's play this fun game".

Jack was very laid-back, but somehow it worked. I prefer his casual delivery to Charlie O's WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEL...OFFORTUNE!!!

After he died, I notice M.G. Kelly seemed to emulate it, but it just didn't work.
"They're both Norman Jewison movies, Troy, but we did think of one Jew more famous than Tevye."

Now celebrating his 22nd season on GSF!

Actually, in the opening, without the requirement to get 15 seconds of copy read in 8 seconds, Jack was able to verbally hype up the prizes and make them sound better than they may've been--something that a more hyper delivery would've made sound more, uh, hyper.

I would've never used him for "TPIR," but Jack's style always fit the shows he announced, going back to "Password."

In the 1984-85 season, just before Wheel started, WCPO would show a brief promo of Pat and Alex calling both shows "back-to-back winners."

Notice I have gotten rid of my old .sig file because someone in this thread asked for it.

I do believe that there were print ads with that same slogan for WoF and J! as well..

Well, if that worked, I guess it's worth a shot:

Brian, will you please stop signing off with that "Don Ruckles"/"Jehovah's Witnesses" thing?

Excellent. Thank you kindly for that. Will you, in this new spirit of cooperation, also lose the nonsensical comments you make after your name?
