Dean Goss sighting
« on: August 12, 2005, 07:24:35 AM »
I was bored and decided to do a Google search, and came across this:

KFRC announcers

Is that the same Dean Goss from LMAD and Wink's HR?

(yes, Zach, I know he announced for some other shows...I'm not asking that)
"They're both Norman Jewison movies, Troy, but we did think of one Jew more famous than Tevye."

Now celebrating his 22nd season on GSF!

In a nutshell, I think that's him alright. The timeframe of him being on KFRC (for over 10 years) seems about right... I'd put money on it that that's him.

Extra credit: What is the significance of KFRC to game shows and other television genres?

I have to disqualify myself, having read some of the answer in Paul Harvey's More of the Rest of the Story a million years ago.  Pleasant singer, from what I understand.

Sure.  Edwards would try to get people to identify the title of a song he was singing (IOW, "name that tune"), and anytime Goodson warbled people would ask him to "stop the music."

<Oy! Boo! Yeeech! Hiss! SPLAT!>

OK, that one just bought me a one way ticket to Hades.  It was nice knowing all of you.  Well, some of you anyway.  :)

It is him. Source: Dean Goss himself. Through an e-mail just received in response to an e-mail I sent him, he confirmed this. Said he had the time of his life doing the program. He even offered that it was the 1985-86 season and Zach will vouch that is correct.

Gosh, I hope not, or Susan had better get a major refund on his grave marker...

Couldn't you give me something less painful--like 1,000 bees instead?  :)

Just try out for "Fear Factor" - maybe they'll use that stunt again  :)

Never mind Zach. I will indeed confirm that Goss was the announcer for the second 1985-86 season of LMAD, replacing Brian Cummings.
