Nice to see, though, that CBS made up for their earlier transgression by giving Pyramid a home again in the '80s...even giving it a reprieve after they canceled it for Blackout.

That's definitely a major moment, just because it was so different.

I think of your question this way: If I was making a two-hour clip special, what would I include? The earliest surviving footage is obvious (episode three exists in black and white) You'd also want to showcase the star power of the series, including before-they-were-BIG-stars players like Letterman or Billy Crystal (his record-setting run another obvious choice). Despite Lemon's misgivings, I consider that 4-tiebreaker Duncan/Russell game to be just ridiculous enough to include. Put in some big wins, of course, and whatever off-the-wall stuff you can find, Many of the ones you mentioned in your initial post are good examples. And definitely Shatner playing solo.

I wonder if the CBS O&Os signed on to the Cullen Pyramid before or after the CBS network cancelled the Clark Pyramid? Here in Michigan, 4 out of 5 that carried it were CBS affils. The other was an ABC affil.

Let me backtrack a second for another episode of "You Make the Call."

Does "Pyramid" not work the same way "Password" does, in that "night" is acceptable for "knight" and thus, "things on [well, you know]" would work for "things on Uranus?" So would hemmorhoids be an acceptable clue?

I think a significant moment was the first $10,000 win. Rob Reiner did it, and it occured during the first week - although there's some debate over whether it happened on the first show or third show. According to Bob Stewart, Fred Silverman was watching the taping on a monitor in his office, and immediately called down to the control room and told them to stop tape, because he thought the show was fixed. It took some convincing by Stewart that it was on the up and up, and the rest is history.

Rob Reiner's $10,000 win was the first game on the first show. According to rumor, he said that the game would never last, it being too easy.

Another memorable moment was Joel Grey being the first celebrity who, with his partners cleared the big board twice in one episode.
