Anyone hear Rocky Allen on Friday?  He's on WPLJ NY.  In the background, they where playing a remix of the classic pyramid music.  Anyone know what this was for, or if some band just thought it would be cool to play?

Do elaborate. How was it remixed?

It sounded like A Disco Remix almost...Don't know how well you can hear it in the background, but here's a short clip...

Hmm. It sounds like the original theme, just sped up, and with the jazzy little drumbeat laid over it. Interesting. I'd love to get hold of the actual piece to listen to it a little more closely.

This thread mentioned a Pyramid theme remix being used in a Comcast commercial - perhaps this is the same one?

Sounds like the same cutting of the theme that is on GSN's CD.

The cut of $25,000 / $100,000 Pyramid they use on the Gameshow CD that GSN put out sounds like the same cut they used on the radio spot.

Yeah, I understood that, but I'll "huh?!" again, because the respective tempos of the two aren't even remotely close.

But other than that, they are the same. Put the Pyramid theme in Audacity and increase the speed.

No they are not the same tempo and sound different, but the cut of it is the same (hence the use of the word "cut").

So he's saying that's the version they used, sped up, and laid the jazzy little beat over? That I can see. I thought he was suggesting it was verbatim from the CD, which is a pretty silly notion.

I don't hear the jazzy beat you're talking about. I'll listen again, but I think it's the same.

EDIT: Upon listening again, I do hear some extra drum beats here and there, but the tambourine you hear is in the Pyramid theme, is it not?
