GSN will be doing a tribute to Don Adams on the week of October 3rd with a weeklong Match Game marathon.  The episodes will be airing at 3:30PM ET/PT on GSN.  Short and sweet post here.

If by "marathon" we mean "the time every day that Match Game is on anyway" and by "some of Adams' funniest appearances as a panelist" (from the press release) we mean "the one week of shows he did".
This has been another installment of Matt Ottinger's Masters of the Obvious.
Stay tuned for all the obsessive-compulsive fun of Words Have Meanings.

Rats.  I was hoping they had more to work with.  Do any episodes of his "Screen Test" exist?  I figure that's as much a game show as "Star Search" was.

That was a Universal show, wasn't it? Does The Network For Games have the rights to that stuff?
I'd like to hear Dick Tufeld again tell the winning player they've won a guest spot on Mobile Two, which went on to become Mobile One which just as quickly went on to become cancelled.

Clips from "Don Adams' Screen Test" were shown as recently as the mid-80's on ABC's "Foul-Ups, Bleeps and Blunders," of course that was twenty years ago, but I think Universal usually keeps all of their stuff.  GSN has dealt with NBC for "Weakest Link" and "Dog Eat Dog," if I worked at GSN, I'd at least call NBC-U to inquire.

I know GSN doesn't have too many shows featuring Don Adams, but MG was definitely not the best showcase of his talent. He was surprisingly not that funny, and didn't seem to like Richard and Gene impersonating him. On a less exciting note, that week of MG was one of the few weeks where CNR switched places, and Don sat in CNR's usual spot. CNR apparently had a cold and the fans in the studio were bothering him.

If it does exist, I have the feeling that Lauren Zazalnick would've dug it out for Trio (Universal product, easy to license) before she got promoted to Bravo and Trio became the hulking ghost it is today.

Who were the other panelists on that week of MG 74 that Don was on, aside from the regulars?
