[Chuck Reilly] "Trump Card" is a production of Createl, Ltd. in association with Fiedler/Berlin Productions and Lorimar Television, and distributed by Warner Bros. Domestic Distribution.  [CR]

"Challengers" was Disney/Buena Vista.  Don Morrow didn't read a slate, we just had Ronnie Greenberg's silhouette teeing off and the dick clark productions animation.

Actually, Lorimar Television merged with Telepictures in 1986, and both into Warner Bros. in 1989.  Telepictures Productions was then formed mainly as a production company, while Warner Bros. took control of all distribution rights for existing Lorimar/Telepictures shows.

Quick Question

Is the ITC mentioned in this topic the same one setup by ATV Midlands and London owner Lew Grade, who syndicated The Muppet Show, Thunderbirds etc to American stations?

Thanks

Yep.
There are three things I've learned never to discuss with people: Religion, politics, and the proper wrapping of microphone cables.

At that point, they were referring to themselves as Lorimar and were technically still a separate division of what was to become Time Warner.

And running Lorimar (and about to run Warners TV after the merger) was some guy named Leslie Moonves--what's he doing today?  :)

And taking care of another post--ITC at the time was owned by Polygram, who had purchased it after Lord Grade's death.  The U.S. operation was run by Jack Barry's old syndicator Dick Colbert, which explains why he was handling "TTD."  In the breakup a few years ago of Polygram, the ATV/ITC library was sold to Carlton Communications, who later merged with Granada to form ITV plc (and I assume that the library is now handled by ITV's Granada Entertainment division, unless Carlton still exists as a distribution entity).

These are kinda off topic, but I was wondering, about Trump Card...

1. Was the $750/$1500/$3000 added to each other, or did the player go into the endgame with just the $3K?

2. Was money awarded per right answer for a bonus round loss, and if so, did this remain in the $2500/$5000/$10,000 bonus format?

Whomever filled the four corners in round one won $750, whomever filled the center line in round two won $1500, and then whomever completed their trump card in round three won $3000. Losing contestants kept whatever money they won. $5250 was awarded in each maingame. I don't believe money was awarded per right answer on a bonus loss, and the $2500/$5000/$10000 bonus format, which I only saw one episode of, also retained that rule.

This takes the thread even further off topic but, regarding "Trump Card", how did the $2500/$5000/$10,000 bonus format work?  I don't remember seeing that one ever.  (Every ep. I saw during the show's original run had the more familiar "$10,000 or nothing" bonus round.)

If a player got the five in a row in less then 45 seconds, it was worth $2500. It was $5000 for less 35 seconds, and $10,000 for less then 25 seconds.

While I'm at it, I might as well ask, but was my mind (4 at the time) playing the tricks on me, or did somebody walk out with over $100K on Challengers?

Yes. And Dick Clark even commented, "We don't have room for it (on the scoreboard)". It carried a permanent $ followed by five positions for the numbers. Whenever someone had a 5-digit total beginning with a "2", the deuce was nuzzled right up against the "$". Looked so cute and cozy. Like Pat O'Brien when he's napping.
I believe $100K+ happened only once due to the jettisoning of The Ultimate Challenge. Didn't they even cool with it with unlimited winnings eventually?
