October 2, 2000.  TPIR introduces a new pricing game which debut on my birthday (what a present it was).  If you hadn't figured it out by the topic description, it's Triple Play!

The object is to guess the right price of 2, 3 & 4 choices, nearest the actual retail price of the car without going over!  The result would be three cars & the 4th pricing game that features the "Curly siren"!

TP MOMENT:  When the show went to Las Vegas, a woman did win Triple Play & went on to win $1,000 on the wheel.  Then she came close of winning $100,000 (not a million yet) on wheel, but was denied.  If she had won $100,000 on her bonus spin, she would've joined Arlene (Grand) & Lilia (Punch) into the BI-SLAM Hall of Fame!

Today is also the fifth anniversary of the debut of History IQ (a show that many feel should still be on weekdays and in production, as well - instead of being banished to 6 a.m. on Saturdays).

Actually, the top prize in the Bonus Spin in the 30th Anniversary Special was still $10,000.

If they have $10,000; they have cash to pay their prizes too.

Of course, you probably wet yourself when contestants win the top prize in Punchboard.

See now, I was going to say the same thing : Each of the first four morons have all been on ignore user for months now. Modor and Lemon both chime in with an insult, and that immediately verifies to me that I'm not missing anything.

See, ignore user IS your friend.

This is true, but I'm a glutton for punishment, so even if I did have any of our forum's idiots on ignore, I'd be so tempted to look at their contributions, it would cancel out my use of the killfile. :-P
"I just wanna give a shoutout to my homies in their late-30s who are watching this on Paramount+ right now, cause they couldn't stay up late enough to watch it live!"

Now celebrating his 21st season on GSF!

It's like Chris always says: if you know the idiot even still exists, the killfile has not done its job.

See; that's my problem too.  I have 'em all on ignore; but then I wonder to myself: "What idiotic thing did they post this time?"

Which has been my point since Ignore List Day One. I realize totally that there are always gonna be instances where someone quotes an idiot post in their reply, so it's never perfect. But, say, someone like irismason or Passedpartout or whatever the hell that handle is, who simply babbles so nonsensically that nobody even bothers to reply to them, those comments would completely flush from the record if it didn't even tell you they had been made, because we wouldn't have these "ah jeez, what now" events. And the Furbys could babble at each other all they like, if you ignore them ALL, you never see THOSE happening either.

So, it's a broken feature. People (in a position to evict change, which isn't us, since we are not Invision customers, our moderators are) should be fighting more to get it fixed. Just saying.

(And yes, I say that knowing that Invision feedback is pretty much ignored.)

Now, how would our resident "supermarket sportscaster", Randy West, call a mess like that?

It's pretty much been our feeling all along that while it's a flawed feature, no system would be perfect and the complainers would continue to complain.  While some of the complaints have taken on an entertainment value of their own, most of them are every bit as ignorable -- and annoying -- as the original posts themselves.
This has been another installment of Matt Ottinger's Masters of the Obvious.
Stay tuned for all the obsessive-compulsive fun of Words Have Meanings.

As one who employs the ignore feature quite effectively, I have a hard time considering it "broken". Yes, I will occasionally read an ignored post--but I always do so after resolving that it'll probably be a waste of time, and that I won't get worked up over it.

(Now, a system to ignore REPLIES to those stupid ignored posts . . .)
