I fared well playing an offshoot of "Sale of the Century" freshman year. The questions weren't that bad, and I wouldn't mind having to build my bank for 8 days at a time...

...so I'll say the Winner's Board or Shopping Era versions of "$ale"

My choice would be Press Your Luck, for obvious reasons.....

BTW, I actually tried out for that show in 1984, but didn't make it.

For me, single appearance + guaranteed = Wheel of Fortune, Toss-Up era. It is a rare day when I don't get at least two of the Toss-Ups before a player does, and that would give me a better chance of starting two rounds. Yeah, there are Bankrupts, but IMO, as long as I can get two or three spins in, my chances of hitting one are going to drop severely. "I was six wedges away from it on my last spin, and I'm three away this spin. Time to spin it a little harder/softer!"

My answer is based on the wording of the question, though. I'd much rather be on Jeopardy! than Wheel in the "real world'. But I wouldn't want to be on J! if I hadn't proven I belonged there, whereas the Wheel audition process is more of a speedbump to weed out the non-perky crossword types.

One nobody's mentioned is Scrabble, at least as far as fun to play. Actually doing the Sprint round, having to call out letters and press the giant plunger, that would be a hoot.

Considering the money, though, then I'd have to go with $100,000 Pyramid.

Don't even bother trying to fight that battle. I've asked such questions many a time and made it clear that just one choice is to be made and sure enough some dingbat comes along with every show or emcee in the encyclopedia.
This has been The Don Howard Commentary. And now, to our question from the original posting: The Hollywood Squares.
Every answer is a 50:50 shot and if you have a teense of knowledge, you ought to get a good chunk of them correct.

Steering back to the original subject and question...

I've wanted to be on Wheel of Fortune and spin that big wheel ever since I first remember seeing the show at age 4 with Chuck and Susan.

I also used to want to turn a letter on the board, but technology has rendered that dream obsolete....

I'd have to go with Scrabble also.  It was one of my favorites in the 80s as a kid, and Chuck really seemed to be having so much fun on it that you can't help but have a good time.  It really had it all.. laid back fun (the main game), skill against the clock and another oppenent (the sprint round) and excitement (the bonus sprint).

Umm, I put more than one show, too, even though it said pick one. If you're gonna flame, go across the board, and not just attack some because they've proven their cluelessness in the past.

Kids, kids, kids...play nicely.  No one is immune to the trials and tribulations of life.  If there's one thing I've learned on this board it's that there will always be someone who doesn't pound to the beat of the same drummer.

Examples of such:
You say give me a top 5, and someone gives you a top 10 with honorable mentions.

You say name your favorite host, and someone gives you a laundry list.

You say name an encyclopedia of useless facts, and someone says Zach...ok that was actually on topic.

Accept it, and move the heck on with your lives people.

Oh, and my 2 chascos would go with the $100,000 Pyramid...in the Yahoo versions of Pyramid, I can attest that in the time I spent prior to hosting, I was a pretty solid cluegiver and an adequate receiver.

You should've also put a line in there about needing to submit to an exhaustive background check. What is this crap about going "1-2-3 turn the key" on "Card Sharks", anyway? Jesus...
