  • Just leave the set; that’d be terrific.

Let's say that you were granted the job of Executive Producer for one day of The Price is Right, and you could make one change that was permanent.  What would you change?

The one thing I'd do is retire the game Double Prices. It's not a bad game, however in most cases, it doesn't quite have the excitement for me as pretty much all the others do.

Double Prices doesn't exist to be exciting.  It exists so that they have time to play other games that are exciting.

Tough call, but I'd probably pick a permanent set of models.

I could think of a few things that I would change, but since I can only name one, I'll say that I would also institute permanent models.

Stop having the audience hoot and holler over everything. I don't mind cheering, but they shit themselves* over everything Bob says. It's like watching Oprah.

Get Bente Christensen to stop drinking on the job.

Or start drinking on the job.

Start planning for when Barker finally goes to that Great Showcase in the Sky.

Since James had Double Double Prices (for lack of a better name), DP could go to a similar format.  Makes one wonder why they didn't keep it.

I would be in favor of permanent models as well (I was thinking Brandi, Rachel, and perhaps Lanisha)

My turn...well, since I implied in another topid that I'd like to see some of the dollar values on the Plinko board changed, that's what I'd do. ($1000 for the bookend slots, make the current ones worth $2500 instead).

New, toned down, reasonably up-to-date set, including the Showcase lecturns and wheel but not the pricing games. No video wall, but a restrained color pallette and a measure of taste.

Get a substitute host to stand in for The WGMC when he's ill so tapings aren't cancelled. In fact, have the sub be Rich Fields. Don Howard would like to announce but realistically have Art Sanders on stand-by for that.

[/quote]Doesn't Barker's contract say that he doesn't want a substitute host?

Start planning for when Barker is finally told to "Come on DOWN!".  If Bob passes judgement, he will be told to "Come on UP!".
