Really? So he just didn't want to do it because <cut to turntable><cut to contestant><cut to turntable><cut to Plinko board> was too much for him? And he still drawing a paycheck? Amazing.

Bart has a nasty habit of not being on the right camera during a game's final, climactic price reveal, leaving the viewer to learn the outcome through sound effects. It seems to happen particularly often in Grand Game.
The tragic irony is that Andy Felsher is more than capable of taking over the direction of the show, and Jay Wolpert might be available to run the live shows, which leaves Bart ... ummm ...

Having heard Bart direct the show, it is my humble opinion that he has all of Marc Breslow's vitriol but none of Breslow's talent.

Going by the rules of only one, and after thinking it over...

Goodbye Bart.

Coming from someone who wants to do such work eventually in his live, I can say just about the only thing I like about Bart directing the show is his Lucky Seven car reveal.

As for my choice, I'd probably get rid of a game or 2. Goodbye Joker.....

There are three things I've learned never to discuss with people: Religion, politics, and the proper wrapping of microphone cables.

Regarding permanent models, a smart producer will keep the models as daily hires. Their term of employment is exactly one working day. If they give you trouble (or testify against you in a hypothetical deposition) you don't call them back. There are no personal services contracts and they make scale -- what a deal!

That's the one where the audience is screaming for about 5 seconds before the camera finally cuts to the car, already in the middle of the stage, yes?
I think I would hire a competent director.  There have been some awkward shots in the past couple years, but I don't think the camerawork has declined significantly.  It seems Bart lacks the split-second reflexes needed to direct a complexly-staged show like Price.

Besides the things already mentioned about Eskander's directing(Eskander worked under both Alter and Breslow at some point, no?), the way he's shooting Bonus Game these days is awkward(with the game already revealed before the contestant and Bob get to the turntable). That's the most obvious change under Eskander, to me anyway.

Really?  It's very anti-climactic.  I'd rather see the car come rolling out than a shot of Door #2.  The television audience should be able to see the car the same time the studio audience does, in my opinion.

Yeah, in watching some older shows, the reveal of Lucky Seven was still awkward, but perhaps better depending on your view. The car would just inch out, and Marc would cut to the contestant, then quickly back to the car into the descrip. I do agree its timing is a bit odd right now with the audience's excitement making it obvious what is about to come.

(Eskander worked under both Alter and Breslow at some point, no?)

He was listed as a "Music Supervisor" in the 70s, and by the 80s was the Associate Director. He's seen in a video clip on the J-Shea site (where the show becomes the longest running in '87) telling Bob how much time he has left in the show. He may have had other responsibilities on the show at different times.

Changes such as the Pl!nko reveal or having the Bonus Game already exposed, may or may not originate with Bart. They could come from anyone on the production staff, then Barker or Roger approves it and Bart implements it.

I thought Felsher did a fine job directing TNPiR 94, so no reason why he couldn't do the same now, even w/out the fancy camera angles, etc. that the former had.

I am under the impression that no one else on the production staff wanted to change the Plinko reveal.

Cripes.  The contestants today showboat enough as it is.  Why do they need to give them further opportunity to look like idiots?

Show the entire spin of the wheel each time during the Showcase Showdown rather than cutting away to the contestant saying hello to everyone. Maybe bring back that arrow view as was previously mentioned.
