On Thanksgiving Day, TPiR is doing a special, although it maybe a regular show, day.  Since the Macy Parade is doing these thing in the morning, TPiR will be moving to 12:30-1:30 pm EST for 1 day only.  Mark your calendar!

Which is all well in good, except CBS doesn't air the Macy's parade. NBC does. CBS airs parades from other parts of the country (as well as from Toronto), but I don't know if the Macy's parade is in the mix any more.

I suspect it will be a rerun, as the day after Thanksgiving has AFAIK always been a rerun(when TPIR aired/airs that day, which it has every year since the early 90s IIRC). Unless they're planning on burning off the MDS then.....

Chumley was talking about Thanksgiving DAY, not the day after.

Although burning off a MDS on Thanksgiving would be something else..

But three years ago the network moved their act from Columbus Circle to Times Square, brought in Glenn Weiss to lighten Mike Gargiulo's load, and decided to concentrate more time and effort on the macy*s Parade. They even changed the name from "The All American Thanksgiving (Day) Parade" to "The Thanksgiving Day Parade on CBS". Nice.

In '02, Julie Chen and Boomer Esiason anchored from the NASDAQ Marketsite with remotes from another crew in Miami. Then the last two years Hannah Storm and Dave Price sat atop the Paramount Theater marquee at the One Times Square "fork", macy*s got center stage and Miami was dropped. macy*s march passes by about 20 minutes ahead of the Peacock crew (with a few musical numbers added in as time fillers).

As to this year, the football pregame is at 3:30 PM ET. I guess CBS wants to fill that time with something other than "Ice Wars". They could have picked a better rerun, though. In fact, the one set for Boxing Day (Dec. 26) is a one-win wonder.
