Hi, I lurk here often and I am going down to see The Price Is Right Live at the Showboat casino. I have a ticket for the 10 p.m. show. Could somebody fill in on how the procedure works and how early I should get there. Thanks.

By now, you have probably been through the process, but for the benefit of those who are hoping to go when the show reopens at Bally's on November 20 is as follows:

You need to present some form of photo ID and fill out a form. Two prizes are shown, usually a car and a small prize, from years ago. You have to guess the prices. Those bids are used to determine who plays in the main games and who plays in the showcase. It's conceivable (and it has happened according to Randy) that the same player can play both a stage game and a Showcase. Remember, different people are chosen for all parts of the game, including the Showcase Showdowns, and four new people play the one-bids each round, so there are plenty of chances to get on stage.

Hopefully Randy can fill us in on who's going to be opening as host and as announcer when the show resumes.

BTW, the show that TPIR is replacing at Bally's is the long-running "Legends In Concert", which I believe was originally done at the old Imperial Palace in Vegas.

I've seen the same contestant called for a one-bid and then called for the showcase more times than I would have expected, Dave. It's the same bidding talent, just on 2 different items. And it's also a function of how many educated bidders are attending any particular show. We've also seen folks nail the prices exactly; with 400+ people bidding for each show, there are some perfect bids on those qualifiers from the registration center.

I was visiting with folks from TV's TPiR this week, and they are thrilled to hear that the name recognition and fan base they've built over the decades helps motivate the sold out shows - at Bally's we can accommodate over 1,000 guests a day. And Harrah's exit surveys show remarkable satisfaction. It's a fun show for the audience as well as the Fremantle production team and talent.

Expect to see our entire roster of talent parade through Bally's during the many months we'll be there. The investment Harrah's made in tearing out walls to get our huge set pieces and prizes into the building indicates to me their dedication to TPiR-Live continues to be strong as we enter our third year in their showrooms. As stated before, I'm very sensitive to not revealing any specifics not already made common knowledge by Harrah's or Fremantle, or by those like Dave who post about their visits to the shows. For who is appearing when and other nitty-gritty info, I suggest checking with the venues, ticket agents and those who have seen the show previously.

Thanks!

Randy

Wouldn't you know it?  We don't book tickets for the OCtober 31st show because we think the relatives are coming up from Florida, then the hurrican comes and they cancel the trip...

Whens the show expected to resume?

Right, it's your relatives' fault a hurricane come through.  Are you related to Henke?

Easy, Mark, he was just commenting on the irony of the situation...I didn't see any fingers of blame pointed in the original post.

He didn't say that, Mark. Save your fire for something that deserves it.
