I don't know the exact year, but I have noticed that every version of Feud since Combs has had the audience dancing and clapping to the theme. It seems that Family Feud is the game show with the most rythm!

It's a musical country hoedown at Television City.

...and ABC Television Center.

...and NBC Studios.

...and Tribune Studios/KTLA.

Oh whatever.

I feel rather strange (for lack of a better word) replying to this.... But I'm fairly certain this was done on Dawson's Feud also at times.

I think it's simply the fact that FAMILY FEUD's theme song (including today's) is fun, and easy to dance to.  There aren't that many (if any) other GS themes you can dance to.

Bob Israel said in an interview in the January 1987 issue of TV Game $how Magazine that he saw Goodson dancing around in his office, playing a pretend banjo, to the Feud theme.

In his bathroom yet.
