New Pricing Game?
« on: December 06, 2005, 12:38:29 PM »
I haven't heard any news on the return of "Balance Game"....wasnt' sure if it was supposed to play already, but delayed due to shuffling of New Orleans prizes early in the season....

Does anyone know when it's supposed to debut?

Marc just posted today in Golden-Road.net's chat that they've got the prop built but are still working out the sound effects.

The prop looks good. Some classic TPiR appearance, but not as grandiose as some of the early set pieces. Depending on personal taste that can be good or bad! The amount of work that goes into that stuff is amazing... all hand-crafted, none of it comes from off the shelf at Circuit City!

It was scheduled to tape on 11/14 for airing likely on 1/2.

They were testing it a few weeks ago.

It's quite bright.
Enjoy lots and lots of backstage TPIR photos and other fun stuff here. And yes, I did park in Syd Vinnedge's parking spot at CBS

I'm not sure whether you were implying that the game was scheduled but didn't appear on that date, but to keep people from asking again on January 2, it didn't.

From what I saw last week, there was one kink besides the sound effects that they were working out, though they may have fixed it by now.

It's much easier to understand than the old Balance Game.

Just so we're clear...they're not "remaking" anything here.  I don't know what this new game's rules are, but if you read the ones for Balance Game '84, you will see what they aren't.

WE understand/understood how to play the pricing games. Remember that the average TPIR contestant seems not to understand Check Game or the basic math required to play Hit Me. The 80s Balance Game was as complicated as those, if not more so.

Women's Entertainment, last time I checked.

But yeah. We're game show nuts, of course *we* get it. I worked out as many of the rules as could possibly be deduced for the procedure for naming strongest and weakest links on TWL (Randy said they weren't all correct, but LALALALALALA).
