Watch or Don't Watch?

Depends on who you ask....the Boston Herald pans it.

Then again, the New York Post absolutely LOVES it.

Herald's quote:

"Even the audience seems hyped up on Red Bull"

I guess we have the "I'm doubling the points" equivalent with the contestant's answer to the bank offer.

Would they think differently if they knew it was a paid audience?
Enjoy lots and lots of backstage TPIR photos and other fun stuff here. And yes, I did park in Syd Vinnedge's parking spot at CBS

Time Out Chicago's review is behind a subscriber-only wall, but Margaret Lyons' last line sums it up for her:

"Speed up the play, ditch the host and we're there."

Margaret has stated in the past that the three greatest words in the English language are "Come On Down!", so you know she's a sucker for game shows.

That surprised me since the New York Post is owned by the same group that owns the FOX TV network.

That means nothing. You're insinuating that because of the duopoly, they would automatically approve of all Fox programming and nothing else. Had you read the review you would have read this line :

"While Deal or No Deal isn't as entertaining as the Simpsons, Howie Mandel is a good host, however, he is nowhere as entertaining as Bill O'Reilly (weeknights at 8 on the Fox News Channel)."

See? No Bias.

Spin, maybe, but no bias.  Right.

BTW, Tony Kornheiser made it his TV pick on Pardon the Interruption yesterday.  Is that a good thing?

LOL...it'd also explain why TVG (another Murdoch publication) took great delight in applauding MSNBC's decision to can Michael Savage's short-lived weekly TV series after his infamous on-air meltdown where he told a crank caller to "get AIDS and die" (it was in Cheers 'n Jeers...they cheered the firing, but jeered MSNBC for hiring who they branded a "hate spewing shock-jock" in the first place). While I wholeheartedly agree w/said decision, it doesn't strike you as odd that they'd seize the op to jump on a competing news network while they're down? LOL

Lest anyone get the wrong idea, let me point out that I think Matt meant to say "...had you read the review in such a case..." or the like, since the Post's review actually made no reference to O'Reilly.  Moreover, Linda Stasi is a diehard liberal -- believe it or not, the Post has a few on staff -- and hasn't been known for defending FNC reflexively.  Apparently some Murdochians can get away with not marching completely in lockstep. :-)

No, that's Howie Mandel you're thinking of.
