Other than Henry Polic (and panelists, such as CNR, Rip Taylor, and Paul Lynde), were there any other hosts or announcers that were gay in the business?
Um, ya. I have stories that I only tell in person, not on line.

Homosexuals in show business? I'm as shocked as Captain Renault (see: Casablanca). Next you'll tell me there are gay cowboys.

Does it matter?

Here's a list of my "colleagues" from our favorite source, Wikipedia!

Sadly, Wilford Brimley is straight :(  He can stir my oats any day...just don't put sugar in them 'cause I haven't gotten my shipment from Liberty Home Medical yet.

Thank God for that! :)

And a WHOOOOOOOOOOOOSH for Doug. Sorry.

EDIT: While I looked at the Wikipedia list, and must say I'm impressed that they put such a list together, I'd like to see some of these verified, because two in particular I believe were put there because they either played a gay role on TV or starred on a show with a centralized gay character. (Other than that, they did a decent job with it.)

When I've Got A Secret makes its return on GSN: The Network For Games, break out pen and paper, then begin making your list. If Henry II is a guest panelist, you've got your answer.
Interesting that someone mentioned "soap" in this thread.

I had it coming.  Dang this head cold. . .

Nah, can't even use that as an excuse.  To use STREET SMARTS vernacular, I blew it.

According to the IMdb, he played the lead in an off-Broadway production of "The Boys in the Band," so he had no aversion to portraying an openly gay character on stage.

Let's just say that he got his "Double Talk" pay in three-dollar bills.

Now here I've spent five minutes trying to make a secondary joke connecting this line to "Yahtzee". There *has* to be a good one someplace.

Yeah, because if you see it on the internet, it MUST be true!

Hey, I'm a big fan of Wikiness, and I'm sure this list is mostly right (if incomplete), but this is just exactly the sort of subject where I wouldn't want to take the word of random, anonymous people.
This has been another installment of Matt Ottinger's Masters of the Obvious.
