THE FAUX GAME SHOW
Host: I don't know who WOULD host this potential disaster... maybe Chris Wilde?

Premise: A set of contestants are competing for MILLIONS OF DOLLARS in a sort of Weakest Link/ Millinionaire format. Actually, the premise doesn't matter because... THE WHOLE THING IS A FAKE (thus the show's title)... these contestants THINK they're competing for big money and prizes.  However, as the show reaches the climactic moment, they're taken backstage, where the host drops the major bomb that they're all part of a sham. and that no actual prizes or money will be given away, and  they're also told that the general audience has no knowledge of this, and they must play the final game as if it was for real money. The "fun" will be in the lack of enthusiasm the contestants have.

...then the p.o.'ed contestants drop the host, and walk away.
Perhaps with enthusiasm

  • Just leave the set; that’d be terrific.

It's times like this when I wish the word "proposal" would automatically send the post to the graveyard.

Two seasons of Joe Schmo was enough reality fakery for me, thanks.

I'm stunned.

You mean there's no pre-existing thread to shoehorn proposals in?

Where the heck am I supposed to go with my proposal of High Stakes Roshambo?

And it's not fair to send all posts with the word proposal to the graveyard!  What happens when someone posts a marriage proposal to someone on this forum?  =D

Ironically, Mark already holds the rights to this concept.  Speaking of which, WhewFan, you've just won Free4All: The Complete Series on DVD.

THE HUXLEY CHALLENGE

Premise: If a contestant can used the word "irony" properly, they win a million dollars. If not, they are pumped full of soma until they pass out. :)

Irismason may be another one, we're still not sure, right. Seriously, Brokenwing and Pat Alder are two others.

There are several female members who simply don't choose to reveal their gender on our forum.
This has been another installment of Matt Ottinger's Masters of the Obvious.
Stay tuned for all the obsessive-compulsive fun of Words Have Meanings.
