Did GSN ever air ABC's 'The $20,000 Pyramid' regularly? If so were there more weeks intact beyond what was shown on 'Pyramid Thursdays' in '02?

Yes, they did. They aired it for a short time beginning 10/12/97, weekdays at 8am. Not sure how long that went for. It also ran on Sundays at 6pm, with the last Sunday ep being 4/12/98.

[I swear I've not been taken over by Zach.....I just happened to check the message board right after PaulD posted] :)

From what we've heard, the last two years of the ABC version still exist.  I think GSN only ran about half of the available episodes before pulling it from the schedule.

Does anyone think that this might work on "That 70's Hour"?

Now, before you panic, I don't want Match Game to go anywhere, I just think this show might be a great complement to that one.

Just a thought...

TT would be a good companion show to MG for "That '70s Hour". They've aired back-to-back on GSN before, not to mention on CBS during their original runs (MG at 3:30, TT at 4).

'Twould be nice to see again, but I think GSN only leases out non-GT shows 150 or 200 shows at a time at this point.

And what they run is probably all that was converted to DigiBeta.  Unlike G-T, which arrived at Culver City already converted, only relative dribs and drabs of the Sony holdings have been converted.

This was during the brief time I had GSN--didn't they run it for the entire "Dark Period"? I don't remember them repeating episodes, either.

Yes, it was only run for that six month period and dropped from the scheduled when the Goodson-Todman shows returned.  The only other times it was ever seen were during a special "preview week" months before it appeared regularly, and the "Pyramid Thursdays" they had for a while.  It might have also popped up once or twice during the "Game of the Week", but I can't remember for sure.

There were eight $20K Pyramid episodes featuring David Letterman on a March 2001 Saturday night marathon. Two or three $20K episodes also aired during their "Golden Pyramid Awards" block in March 2002.
