Does anyone remember this promo? I just found it the other day on an old VHS tape, it's a promo for the syndicated "Wheel of Fortune." It's basically a classic, '80s kitsch-filled music video with some soul group singing "I'm a Wheel Watcher." The video begins and ends with Vanna in a red Thunderbird convertible; at the beginning she asks, "Wanna go for a spin?" We see the group, and various images including singing construction workers and a woman playing a sax. Very, very funny to see now, and perhaps one of the most extravagant game show promos ever.
Anyway my question: who's the group? DeBarge? Kool and the Gang? Someone else entirely? Someone known? Someone not? I wish I had a way to post this on Youtube but maybe some other day.

Hmm... wish I could tell you, but I have another one from around '92 kicking around somewhere that also features said "Wheel Watcher" video.

The group was Kool & The Gang; they had a song that came out right before the promos started called "Girl Watcher".
And now with #18 in our countdown.......[/Casey Kasem]

By that point, wasn't Aretha Franklin doing Wheel promos? I believe she did some around that time frame about how "Wheel of Fortune is America's game/Spin the Wheel/Buy a Vowel"...

Thank you, I always thought it sounded like DeBarge but looked more like Kool & the Gang. And of course I know the song was a 1960s remake ("Girl Watcher"). I'm really surprised no one has put this on Youtube yet, I would do it if my computer wasn't messed up.
