Where are they taping the O'Hurley version of Family Feud?
-
Tribune
-
And another thing. Every time I see John, it reminds me of another white-haired dude who's appearance ALMOST looks like him.
Kevin O'Connell of GO.
-
I think the new version is amazing, but I'm gonna get pretty tired of O'Hurley jumping every time from the "Try Again" buzzer in Fast Money VERY quickly.
Adam

You know, he does so many other things right that I find myself not even caring about that.

There's a chance that John will notice the novelty of the action wearing off eventually and stop on his own.
One mild thing I noticed. Instead of saying "try again", he says "another, please". Nice modest change.
And his sign-off shows sincere gratitude to the audience for watching. I like it and him.

What does he say? I've seen exactly one episode and I don't remember.

It's no special phrase. Just something on the order of, "Thank you for watching. See you next time", but it's spoken, not shouted, by a man who, by his tone of voice, truly sounds grateful for his job and to us for watching.

Ah, I gotcha. I gotta say, I've become an incredible John O'Hurley fan. Feud in and of itself I'm a little tired of (it was never my favorite game show anyhow, which is why I really haven't watched it much in recent years), but ever since O'Hurley branched out from the Seinfeld gig into other things, his competence and humble demeanor have been refreshing, and I've enjoyed seeing him succeed.
Sale Of The Century needs to come back here, not just because it's a good show, but I'm really starting to think it's the gig O'Hurley was born to do.

I always imagined him hosting TPiR, and (IMO) he would fit well.

Yeah, I can definitely hear him saying (and I forget the exact verbage), "The Speed Round starts.........NOW"

Most importantly of all (and this is something the twits who keep suggesting National Anthem singers and / or Todd Newton for a hypothetical $ale gig keep missing), we know from the affidavits he read on TTTT2K that he's a fast, clear, and good reader. I know I've harped on it time and time again, but it bears repeating (but not this Sunday! ;)): that should be THE NUMBER ONE they look for if the heavens should ever shine on us and they do start looking for a potential applicant for that gig.
-
Well, Chris, it looks like they might be looking to someone for the gig, if I am reading this Craigslist posting (http://\"http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv/tfr/212934729.html\") correctly.

That's most interesting, although I always smell crap when a) the posting is on Craigslist (although that seems to be awfully common anymore, so I should probably get past that prejudice) and b) the contact is a throwaway GMail address. It just gives me the vibe of "these folks aren't serious." If you want to be taken seriously as a production company, spend the friggin' $9 on a domain.
I'd LOVE to be wrong, though.

I have a bigger gripe with movie trailers pimping a Myspace URL at the bottom of the screen. I know it's trying to get the youth demographic, but to me it's trying too hard.
-
For some reason that's beyond my recognition, I just cannot hop on the O'Hurley bandwagon. He's good, I'll admit that. There's just something about him that makes him feel out of place.
/Speaking of out of place, they really need to install the real scoreboard font.

Any of them not a Fox film? If not, the password is "synergy".
My apologies for the delayed reaction, but it bears repeating. (37-6. Maybe next year, Lemon :-D).

I am pleased to announce that I went out to dinner with a friend upon my flight landing in San Jose rather than watch that travesty. Y'all straight-up whipped up on our asses. We'll have to do it again sometime. :)

Be careful what you wish for. As much as I love the Bears I'm not sure I want to see the Seahawks in January. Shaun Alexander might not have been the difference, but they were without a couple of other key cogs in the machine.
I'm happy. But I ain't gloating.
ObGS: Al Michaels worked Seattle/Chicago last night. Michaels' mother is Lila--who worked for Barry-Enright (don't remember if she's still with us).

When are you going to San Jose next? I'll be in the area late November/early December.

Probably not until next year. I usually plan a trip around Opening Night for the Sharks, but who knows what my work schedule will look like then. Plus I'd like to try to make a trip out for the Congreff, maybe.
-
Oh, well, a trip to the Congreff trumps a trip to San Jose any old time. Not only do the airplanes at Burbank* airport deliver you right to the door of your hotel room, a trip to the Congreff is unforgettable. I will be having an Invision luncheon again where you will meet the unforgettable Don Howard, the unforgettable Mike Klauss, and the unforgettable Scott Robinson. J.D.H., he can be pretty forgettable :-P You will also meet me. Anyone who meets me and forgets me has Alzheimer's or something.
*I refuse to call it the Bob Hope Airport ... I WON'T, I WON'T, I WON'T ... (STOMPS FEET UP AND DOWN AND THROWS TANTRUM).

Sweet. I'll look forward to meeting them.
Oh, wait--I forgot that I already had. Is my face turning red.
Seriously, that was a fun lunch (sorry that my head cold kinda kept me a little out of the loop--not that anyone really noticed).
And, Chris L.--count me among those who would also look forward to the meet-and-greet.
