On the HollywoodSquares.com Message Board, I've found out that HS98 regular Bruce Vilanch did a taping of H2 on 9/6 and is airing the week of 10/20.
A little good news for the day!!

That's good news, as well as the upcoming H2 guest list for GS Week.

This is good news? I found him to be staunch and annoying.

Hey, as long as it's not Whoopi.

I don't know . . . I could never tell what was the bigger negative factor about Vilanch, his writing or his delivery.

I think he's hilarious, myself, and I'll prolly go out of the way to watch the week he's on.

Firm and dependable and annoying? Forgive me, calling Vilanch \"staunch and annoying\" doesn't make sense.
Is there another definition of \"staunch\", or a different word, you had in mind?

Glad to see Bruce return, even if only for a wk...I always enjoyed his work on the show, and it'll be interesting to see how he looks w/out the Bill Gaines-ish beard anyway.
Now let's see how he does w/out \"access to all of the game material\"... :-)

Dunno about that, but if I had my way, I'd have a chapter on Caroline (who, for the uninitiated, was the subject of my mystery question...as in, \"Since Bruce is returning, does that mean the chances of Caroline returning are now greater?\")
\"X left Wheel,\" is that this board's answer to RSPW's \"Demolition lost the tag team titles\"?

It's usually only Woolery, and the origin of the line is twofold: either 1) a cluebie (clueless newbie) who was utterly shoked at the concept that Chuck Woolery was originally the WOF host in the first place, or 2) a tribute to the \"Greed\" contestant who blew a question because they didn't know that Woolery had hosted WOF....with Woolery himself standing about four feet to his left.

I suppose the music version would be \"Paul McCartney was in a band?\"

Now that's just stupid. Everyone's heard of Wings.

And there lies the problem, actually. Many was the show that he had the best material. When the head writer gets the best material, it speaks of greed and self-centeredness, the kind that was observed in other people who doubled both as on-air and off-air talent.

And to make things come full circle, and relevant to my original feelings, how about: \"Did you know James wants to see Caroline back on H2?\"
