The updated SS looks absolutely terrific from what I've seen off the UKNova so far - modern set that still recalls the '90s version, a swell update of their previous lyrical theme and a solid, entertaining host in Dale Winton, back for his second go-round.
It's still weird to this Yank seeing the show go by without an audible brand name (and, ergo, some of the games in the time round being unrelated to shopping, adding general knowledge and pop culture to the proceedings), but that's made up for by some interesting new games to play, including a Now You See It-esque word search on the premiere.
(Celebrities are hearing the beep this week only, they promise.)

They understand the concept of reviving "cult classics". Paging whoever has the rights to US Supermarket Sweep....
I can't wait to see a full ep. sometime. This looks good.

I was at a recording of one the episodes last month, it was one of the more enjoyable recordings I've been to, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves immensely.
The whole of the quiz was pretty much done in one take (there was a comedy moment as some of Dale's question cards got stuck together during Dale's Daily, they just added the new questions at the end), as was the second half (apart from the stop-down so they could check the shopping out, obviously).

From what I understand, The Bar-Codes "Will You Dance With Me?" was based off the theme. I was wondering if the original show actually used the Bar-Codes version of the theme?

No. they don't. Pasqaule's TPiR was bloody awful, and the ratings showed.

If 5:30pm is the intended time slot for the regular players as well as celebrities ITV still hasnt learnt.
The original was so popular because there was nothing on at 3ish in the day so it was an automatic ratings grabber.
Neighbours will slaughter it.
