They're known in the US as two people who did a Punk'd-like prank on Simon Cowell during American Idol auditions a year or two ago.

While quite funny, that clip doesn't make them known in the US, as it aired on their UK show.
They are, however, known here for the two night "World Idol" special from a few years back.
