I would prefer to hear from CBS or a more trusted source first before we can consider it "official".
-
A more trusted source than Rich Fields? A guy who's in a heap of doo-doo if he's anywhere other than studio 33 on August 15?

Well, if he wants to be somewhere else August 15th, I won't mind. But, otherwise, point taken...

Hell, I thought you were making a joke.
"I'd like to hear from someone who actually works on the show."

Marc Green confirms it (http://\"http://www.golden-road.net/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?post_id=56095#forumpost56095\") (if that means anything), and mentions the following:
August 15th will be the first taping of Season 36, although this will not be the Season 36 premiere. Except to see out-of-order airings this season...at least early on.
Going forward, and as of right now, the show will tape every other week, Tuesday - Thursday, two shows per day. The show will have a full staff / no audience rehearsal on Sundays and Mondays during taping weeks.
And two posts down it mentions that "Feud" will be taping there (as in 33) next season as well. Didn't know that.

Hmm. So no more in-the-round audience? Interesting.
-
Didn't one of the Anderson seasons tape at CBS TV City? I know they taped at NBC in '99 or '00...

Yes, but not in the main building.

It'll be strange then for the sudden switch in Feud's set, won't it? They've had quite a few taping periods within the past two weeks in their current set. I could have sworn I heard from at least one audience member that they were no set changes beyond the 70s-ish look in the family picture area and the new logo. Anyone here been to Feud tapings recently and can confirm anything? I'll try to find out later.
Then again, if 1 VS 100 can have three sets of rules within 6 episodes, I'm sure no one will seriously care about a sudden set change.
Edit: Never mind, they're apparently scheduling it pretty well around Price. According to OCA, Feud will be taping WWE shows on August 9th and then regular episodes on August 16th all day. Their taping schedule is every Thursday from the 9th through the 30th. It still lists Tribune Studios, but I'm sure that will change. Real Time with Bill Maher starts airing live Fridays on August 24th at 11PM from Studio 33 apparently as well, with rehersals during the day.

[IdiotMode=ON]
Are they doing the "audience in the round" thing for S33 too?
[IdiotMode=OFF]
And the way it looks...S33 will be very, very busy again. On one given week, it could look like this:
Sunday: Feud/TPiR Rehearsals
Monday: TPiR Rehearsals
Tuesday: TPiR x2
Wednesday: TPiR x2
Thursday: TPiR x2
Friday: Bill Maher
Saturday: Feud
-
Tiny fix to that. August 15th is a Wednesday, 16th is Thursday, 17th is Friday, and so on.

An A-Ticket will either get you a kick in the ass or a seat at a Set for Life taping, your choice.
-
Well apparently they won't be taping Feud on the TPiR studio yet.

So are you saying that Marc's quoted statement is inaccurate?
-
Sunday doesn't look right. You wouldn't go from FF to TPIR rehearsals without the tiny detail of loading and lighting the TPIR set.
(ADDED)
To clarify, it's what the schedule will probably look like when Drew is broken in. In the meantime, it looks like they will do a dress rehearsal sans audience on Mondays. I expect that eventually they won't need the fourth day in the studio.
OK now here is the mystery. We know they broadcast 10 shows over a two-week period. If they only tape six shows every other week, that leaves them four shows short each two-week period.

If it's "whatever" on Thursday, Maher brings in an audience on Thursdays and does his monologue, desk bit and New Rules segments to test them out before the live telecast on Friday. He could probably do all of these things in any other studio or at a comedy club, but he could do them at 33.

At CBS rates (which are probably 10x comedy club rates)?

Mahr used to be upstairs (I think 58). He got kicked out because of another show (I believe Tyra), so they moved him to 33, but still charged him his old rate. But point taken. Lot's of other places he could do this.

I finally got around to watching Drew's recent appearance on Craig Ferguson last night, and I was heartened when he mentioned that he was going to go back to Cleveland for some special night that the Indians were throwing for him, but now that he has to rehearse for the Price thing, that's going on the back burner. It gave me the vibe that he's taking this pretty seriously. Which, for that money, he should, of course, but I'm still impressed.
