" "Deal or No Deal" will differ from its NBC primetime parent in two big ways: It's a half-hour, not an hour, and it'll give away a top prize of $250,000, not $1 million.
Howie Mandel will reprise his host chores on the syndie edition, but NBC U will cut back on the number of sexy suitcase models from 26 to a figure still to be determined. A spokesman for NBC U declined to comment on the syndicated version of "Deal." "

So they'll fill out the group with worn-looking plain-Jane suitcase models?

I would assume the producers are already figuring out ways to give away Hawaiian trips and hot tubs, just to get you into the Speedos like on "$ale of the Century!"

So close, producers! You were right to cut the prize by a factor of four, but the number of cases was fine as is. A half hour is plenty of time to finish a game if you leave the capering on the cutting room floor.

I had a feeling the syndie show would offer a smaller cash prize and (with fewer cases) move at a more brisk pace.
I think the case structure will range from 16-20 cases...I will have to work on how the prize ladder works.

Travis, don't forget that the syndie version probably has a smaller budget for the talent as well.
Having one Vanna White-style model bring each of the 26 cases down as they're selected would look tacky in light of the prime time version having one model per case. (Then again, some would say the whole show is tacky as is....)

Tell me if this is too top heavy, it's with 18 cases:
Something seems off, but I can't pinpoint it. I feel as if there should be something between $1,000 and $5,000, and I'm not fond of putting the $5,000 in the higher column. Either that or the second column looks flawed.

Your matrix is even more pinching of pennies than the Australian version, which I like. Even the UK one would be fine. Maybe yours has a bit too many amounts between 10k to 50k, but overall, I like it.
Even so, it's all for nothing if they're just going to do what they did with an hour of time to fill, and instead do it with a half hour.

My solution : Take the values from the UK version, using dollars for pounds.
22 Cases, but here's the rub : do the UK version format, with opening 5 up first, then 3 every round....
Make the contestants sweat over their hardly earned money.

Well, for one thing, you have negative numbers all over the place. What, if I pick the biggest case, I have to give the producers $250K? ;)
EDIT--Whoops--Modor got there first.

You'd know what I'd like to see? (Or hear)....I'd love to have a snarky Banker voice (not seen, but heard) on the syndie DoND taunting the player and announcing the offers himself...that way it could stand out from the other versions.
As for case values, let's assume a 20-case board (you could do a 5-4-3-3-2-1 format)
$1 $5 $10 $25 $50 $75 $100 $250 $500 $750
$1000 $2000 $3000 $5000 $10,000 $20,000 CAR (they do it on other versions, why not here?) $50,000 $100,000 $250,000
(you could also do the Chance, Double or Nothing, and Supercases like in Australia....heck, you could even do audience participation and do case amount guesses too. For a half-hour syndicated version, I would think it would be better to go with a different version than just do a stripped-down US clone)

Or you could just take the values from "Vas o No Vas"...
