They are offering a million dollar prize (or at least I think that's the case) - see the video on the official page for the show.

Especially considering this is a country where Wheel has had quite a spotty history in recent years anyhow, which I'm not sure isn't a mark of really good taste.

Mo Money Syndrome strikes Down Under.
If I read the schedule correctly, it looks like it's going to go up against "DOND" on Seven at 5:30 (where "Antiques Roadshow UK" is now). Is Nine trying to make "DOND" up its stakes? Is Michael O'Keefe now going to offer ponies and have the Prime Minister make a cameo appearance? :)

No. Their Prime Minister has the dignity, respect , and better judgement to NOT appear on a game show, in a desperate attempt to boost public opinion.

New Zealand started a new daytime version a couple of weeks ago...I got a copy of the first ep, and it's definitely not a million dollar WOF- the bonus round prize played for in the first episode was a pair of KAYAKS...(about $2500)- the biggest prize is a car, and while they play for cash, they use the Australian rule of you only get what's on the wheel once, no matter how many times a letter occurs (and there are a ton of $50 spaces in the first half of the game)....
