Just wondering, what's the status of any of the Jeopardy! seasons pre 1997? Is there any chance of those returning to the ariwaves anytime soon? Last I saw they were in the 2000s or so, and that's been at least 3 months ago(I I think that's when I last had cable :/ ), so please forgive me if I'm out of the loop.
I'm also wondering if there's any chance of Rock and Roll Jeopardy returning to the airwaves.

I believe that every ep of Trebek J! exists, as does R&RJ!. As to when GSN will give us something not from the beginning of the Sushi Bar era, who the hell knows. They ran season 6 of syndie WoF into the ground for what felt like 14 years, and they'll probably do the same with whatever season of J! they're showing now.
Is there still a chance? Maybe. But for some reason, Sony seems especially tight on their shows (J!, WoF, Pyramid, etc.). I'm sure someone will fill in the missing pieces here.

Seems unlikely, given that the supposed reason for GSN airing newer J! seasons is to prevent the material from appearing too dated.

I don't agree with that. Why? Because, the show always uses material that is from the past.
Plus, pretty much any game show that's not current or any older episodes of a show is going to have some amount of outdated material, though obviously some more than others.

Too dated? You mean to tell me there's no longer a "Soviet Union"? There was a question about it the other day on Tic Tac Dough...
