Title: mattel wheel of fortune play along HD TV question
Post by: bradhig on October 13, 2010, 10:19:40 AM
Anyone tried playing the Mattel Wheel of Fortune Play Along game with HD TV?   I just dug mine out and tried it with some youtube episdoes of WOF from 1988 -1990 but it doesn't work.

I think it only works with original broadcasts. I tried it with GSN reruns and it did not work with that either.

It's not going to work on a digital signal, I don't think, since the blanking interval works differently, and that's where the information is sent. Similar to why native closed-captioning doesn't work over HDMI.

Same with the light guns on the NES.     So the tapes you can buy for it won't work either.

Yes, precisely so.
