Today, December 12, 2012 marks the 10th anniversary of the Game Show Forum!
It is also the birthday of Frank Sinatra, Connie Francis, Dionne Warwick, Edward G. Robinson and my mother, Gloria Clementson.

A sincere THANK YOU to Chris, Matt, and the others who decided that us true fans needed a new place to go and talk game shows without having to put up with the trolls, and the Zachs. Hard to believe it's been 10 years already. Great job & keep it up!
/BTW, the avatar is that of Break the Bank (and ABC network) announcer Ernie Anderson, in his alter ego, Ghoulardi, FWIW.

Before YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and Ruben Studdard this site was here. From GSN's transformation to Bob Barker's retirement, this site was here. It's amazing what has happened in such a span of time.
I had heard plenty of this site in years past, but I don't know what took me such a long time to join.
Congrats on 10 years and here's to 10 more.

I remember naysayers immediately shooting down the idea, believing this wouldn't last and that we'd be back at ATGS in no time. Glad to know they didn't know what they were talking about after all.

A fast note to you from my vantage point as a lurker these days to thank Matt and Chris for delivering us from the insanity of that other place a decade ago. Plus, on behalf of my Bev, I wish all of you a very happy holiday season.

I, as well, add my thanks to Messrs. Ottinger and Clementson (and the late Mr. Zinkin, wherever you are) for this forum. I may have had personal difficulties with the state of some shows, and at times the genre as a whole (I've since come to terms with the notions that it's all just entertainment and not truly important in the overall scheme ot things, that times change and certain things will one day be popular/common knowledge/present and the next be forgotten/obscure/extinct, and that things usually come and go in cycles, so I'm more likely to just shrug my shoulders and move on), and have even had my enjoyment of this forum occasionally lessened by periods of conversation takeover by obstinate/narcissistic idiots (after which I add said idiots to my ignore list), but I will never regret my participation here nor associations (if only virtually) with all the board regulars and industry personnel who have posted over the years. Despite my infrequent postings, I will stick around here until the game show genre is truly dead (and maybe longer as long as more new episodes of my favorite shows of the past keep being added to cyberspace).

This place is tons better then the newsgroups that many of us used back in the day. We would still be using it if it wasn't for the abuse it took at times. Now we have a place where we can mingle :)
