I was not only surprised to read it in today\'s Detroit Free Press, but also find it posted at gameshownewsnet.com:

\"Bowling for Dollars\" first aired with a different host (Dick VanSyce), as a daily afternoon program, later moving to 7:00 p.m weenights, where it competed most of that time with CBS\' and ABC\'s evening newscasts, and was highly watched!
In 1978, the local station (then WWJ-TV, Channel 4) was forced to change ownership (and became WDIV). The new station management decided about a year later to air the show Saturday afternoons only, with a slightly altered format, and a new host (Chuck Springer), but was cancelled within the year.
Sweet! The Claster legacy lives on.
Hmmmm. Maybe WEWS could try to revamp BFD -- with or without Don Webster -- to replace \"The List\". Can\'t do much worse than what they have now in the 7PM hour.
I used to love the theme they used for Cleveland\'s edition of BFD. Love to get that theme in the clear.
This news had me searching to confirm my cloudy memory of who hosted the WOR New York version. I remembered Bob Murphy, the long time New York Mets announcer, but Larry Kenney was also a host of the show. Kenney was a DJ on WHN in New York (a long time country station) and voice talent.
Cleveland had two runs with \"Bowling For Dollars\". One with WEWS\' Don Webster, and the other with Dick Goddard of WJW-TV 8..
Tim Lones, why didn\'t you tell me that Paul King died?

Don:
Though I\'ve probably heard him hundreds of times over the years on Cleveland area TV, I wouldn\'t have known his name..
