The game is missing in action since the end of season 30. Word is it is retired, although there's a small ray of hope the game could return with a new gameboard. Pick-a-Pair, carnival style, disappeared for a couple of years and then returned in 1990 with the current game setup.

Rumor has it that "Penny Ante" is on hiatus, but one that was extended because the set was left out in the rain.

Hiatus is a pretty good word.

It was supposed to return with a new gameboard, but interest to get it done kind of died down.

Bob doesn't hate the game, so it's possible for it to come back.

I don't think that I can take it.
'Cause it took so long to bake it, and I'll never have that recipe again.

The TPIR page at CBS.com says it's retired.

What I want to know is: Is That TRUE?

No. CBS's website is intentionally trying to mislead you.
