Looks like Bill Monk is selling them. He unearthed these several years ago before the move out of TVC

Edit: It’s actually Charlie Monk, not Bill.

And for a slight discount, you can get an "S" slide from the annual Merry Xmas board.

Looks like he's also added a Whammy T shirt order card and an official Whammy pop-up card from the set.

The early bird definitely got the worm.  26 slides were bought earlier today via Buy It Now, almost all for less than some of the current high bids.

(Humblebrag:  Got mine early.)

SIDENOTE: The slides are 2 in x 2 in. Just thought I'd throw that in there.

Affirmative.

Just because I was curious... somebody spent over $5,000 (and a spin) on the Whammy slide?

Five. THOUSAND.

Monk has got to be kicking himself for selling most of them at low Buy It Now prices. Some of those bids may or may not actually come to fruition, but I think it's safe to say he could have gotten two or three hundred for any of them, and instead got $40 and $60.

It's still killing me that I was a few hours late to this.  I would have snatched up a "Buy It Now" price - but not where they landed.  Oh well.

Bill was kind enough to send me these 10 years ago. Maybe I should auction them off for the prices he’s getting.

I can’t imagine somebody actually doling out that cash and they’ll just renege. Memories from decades past and some of us mocked the purchase of a PYL themed t shirt for over $100.

PYL slides are the next crypto meme coin.

This one went for $910.

Hell, the boxes that held them went for $86 and $111.

The SAN DIEGO slide went for just shy of the prize value of the trip to San Diego!

The Whammy pop-up card went for $8600.

Who wants to go in business, printing Whammy cards?

I think I may put mine up for sale if there are no more in the pipeline.

Looks like eBay’s take is about $1000. Still awesome price

Assuming the sale goes through.

You know, we keep talking about that as a possibility, but the winning bidder has a 100% positive feedback rating on 139 reviews and, from what little information Ebay shows us about buyers, appears to be specifically interested in TV memorabilia.  I don't think this is a kid who got on mommy's computer.

Probably not, I'll allow that. Also I have an eight of clubs from Card Sharks on my mantle and I paid less than a hundred dollars all up on it. I'm more bewildered by it is all. Also I promise not to try to flip the Quizbusters keyrings you sent me either. Those actually bring me joy when I see them.

A whammy and a Big Bucks. Anxious to see how much those go for.

Not for nothing, but we never had a slide projector growing up; I know absolutely nothing about slides. Is it even POSSIBLE to duplicate one only having the source slide itself? I'm sure they had a few as backups, but there can't be a lot of Big Bucks slides in existence, seeing as they needed exactly two at any given time (because they were different for each round, right?) Maybe ten or twenty out there, in case a projector burned one out or something?

My point is, if these things are going for over four figures per, counterfeiting suddenly seems like a worthwhile investment. Not saying anyone here would do it, but I could see the market getting flooded, especially if there's any kind of buzz about the movie.

Ebay does a lot to obscure this, but the early high bidder on the Big Bucks slide is the same guy who bought the others.

I think each square cycled through six slides, which means you’d need two, and four if you wanted to ready a different projector for next round without a stop.

It's probably not hard to scan in the image and then print it.  You can likely do that on your home printer if it's of high enough quality, though if you're concerned about color differences from using home products, you'd want to take the job to a professional who can color match better.  If you want "authenticity", you'll want to make sure you have the right material; you can get transparencies that are made from more than one material, and I don't know which one the original slides are.

If you were trying to "pass one off", then the other smell test would be the slide casings.  You can get second-hand cardboard casings online, or you can 3d-print new ones.  But those won't look like the original casings that these are in.

So... you could certainly make your own 35mm slide of a whammy, but making it look like the real thing would take a bit more work.
