Title: A question about ABC Password
Post by: edholland83 on July 08, 2003, 08:52:07 PM
I have a few questions about it

Who was to originally have had posession of the tapes?

Was any legal action ever filed?

When did GSN notice it wasn't in the in the catologue?

How Many of the tapes does GSN have possession of? I heard it was between 3-5 tapes NBC Match Game

And Do you think that it was never meant for those born after '75 to see on tv?

Fremantle would now have whatever ABC Passwords still exist. GSN reportedly has none in their collection. Goodson saved most of his 70s-90s shows. Three ABC shows(Password, SHowoffs, and supposedly Better Sex) and NBC's Mindreaders are the only 70s shows Goodson did not save for whatever reason.

Doesn't at least some of Better Sex exist?  I mean GSN has shown it on a few occasions.

GSN has aired only 2 episodes of \"The Better Sex\".  There are at least two others that exist in the trade curcuit - the pilot and finale.

GSN has never aired \"Showoffs\" or \"Mindreaders\".  Only one episode of each exist in the trade curcuit (although not in very good quality).

As for the ABC \"Password\", I know that at least one episode from early in the run exists (before the set change), but for some reason this isn't being traded around.

I think the few GSN aired were either recovered or just copied from someone else's tapes (the picture quality wasn't the greatest).  I think back in the ATGS days, someone said they had a copy of their appearance on Feud and it had a TBS label underneath, so G/T or ABC likely reused at least some of those tapes.
