Even the Adlink schedule says that Password was supposed to be on 9/17, but Winner Take All (not a Bill Cullen one, but I'm not sure who the host was as I only caught the last minute or so) was on instead. Perhaps GSN has one fewer Password ep than they thought?

The host in question is Barry Gray.
When the Adlink schedules were posted earlier, I noted that they were airing the "Number Please" that they've aired before on the Friday of what was said to be "Winner Take All" week.
Evidentially, this is why they had to program that "Number Please".

So what will be on tonight/Saturday morning then?
Even the GSN online schedule says Password was supposed to be on...

I caught Winner Take All this morning..As I was hoping to Tivo Password. A few things I noticed..The show was apparently done in 15 minute segments as some CBS affiliates would cut out for a local program while others stayed with the show longer. Also out of one ot the breaks they showed the WCBS 2 New York Station ID slide. The one lady had won 6 times. Gray was trying his best to be funny but not always succeeding. They had some skits that were used to ask questions. A lot of Talent for a game show, with actors, an orchestra, etc.
According to sources, this episode was from the February-April 1951 CBS daytime run. Which leads me to ask.Other than the What's My Line Premiere in 1950, are there any older GT shows in the GSN Vault?

There are several more WML episodes from 1950 (four) and March 1951 (two).
(The two surviving Barry Gray Winner Take Alls are from April 12 and 17, 1951, according to the UCLA Film Archive, which stores them.)

B&W Overnight is still at 4am Eastern, correct? If so, when is it switching to 3am? (9/27 ?)
-
Tim - your mention is interesting. Was a complete game of Password finished by the 15 minute mark, or was it just a variation of the classic 50s-style "let's break for a minute to let the affiliates identify themselves" kind of thing? I faintly remember Jack Narz doing a 15 break on Video Village in 1960...when did the mid-show break go away?
-
So we aren't going to see that all-star Password with Bob Denver as a player? Damn. Also, I am confused by the "Number Please" references. Is this coming up next week? I've been taping all the WML?s and usually getting the tail end of Password or BTC so I'd have noticed if Number Please was already on.

Ol Guy..
Winner Take All was on from 4-4:30 AM ET..Password was pre-empted. In the middle of Winner Take All, Barry Gray made it a point of saying something like "Those stations who have to leave now We'll see you tomorrow, Otherwise we'll be right back. " There were a lot of discussion shows, Ladies programs, cartoon shows, etc done on local stations (and networks) that weere only 15 minutes long..A throwback to the days of radio..By the late 1950's most of those short shows had disappeared, except for the CBS soaps between 12:15 and 1PM ET
12:15 Love Of Life
12:30 Search For Tomorrow
12:45 Guiding Light

Seeing how the Bob Denver/Barbara Rush
all-star Password was pre-empted makes me wonder
if GSN will "skip over" the FINAL ep of WML?

OK, quick recap. What show has been running on B&WO at 4:00AM EST for the past 2 days (9/17 & 9/18)? For my VCR keeps missing them (been acting funny lately).

GSN doesn't even have the Denver/Rush episode.
Interestingly enough, the TV Guide Channel was the only place I saw that said WTA would be on last night/early this morning. Every place else still said Password.

It's coming up late Friday night, assuming the schedule for next week is still correct.

The Adlink schedule has it for Friday evening.
