Title: Site ranking TV themes
Post by: DrBear on November 17, 2004, 09:13:46 AM
The excellent "Retrocrush" site is doing a countdown of the top TV show themes.
So far, Family Feud is no. 91 (http://\"http://www.retrocrush.com/tvthemes/index.html\") and they've counted down to 84. We'll have to keep an ey e on this one.

The line about Ray Combs in there was unnecessary.

Here, here. This is an example of someone going for the joke just for the sake of going for the joke even though no joke exists, as happens with selective NTN games. In actual fact, it's distasteful and insulting. But you can bet your life's money that some brain-damaged nincompoop found it delightfully hilarious.

Definitely. EXTREMELY uncalled for. And as Don said, a brain-damaged nincompoop probably found it hilarious. Heck, we probably have a member here who found it funny.

Ooh, yeah it was. Wonder who that guy bowls with.

The rest of the list better be magnificent after clocking the Seinfeld theme in at #86, and the theme from Night Court (starring Richard Moll (http://\"http://www.homestarrunner.com/sbemail101.html\")!) at #95.

If they put Dallas in the top 20, they'll be OK in my book. Top 10, and I'll forget that tacky comment about Ray.

ObGameShows: Charlene Tit...I mean Tilton hosted a MG pilot in the late-90s

God must be punishing them for the Ray Combs crack because the web site crashed two hours ago and has yet to reappear.

About Ray Combs...I agree, didn't like it when I Love The '70s took his death lightly (besides calling Richard drunk) and don't like it here either.  And while I'd be for Ray haunting Retrocrush, if he had anything to do with the Diana Rigg link in their "babes" section just going back home, well for that I won't yell, "BULLS-EYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYE!" ;-)

BTW, while it has its good qualities (i.e. said "babe" gallery), Retrocrush can't hold a candle to X-Entertainment.

ObGameShows: X-E currently has some videos of '80s era Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parades, many of which were hosted by Pat Sajak.

Oh my goodness.  That was an awful remark.

The (insert expletive here) who made that insensitive comment should be sent to www.raycombsjr.com and e-mail that site's webmaster an apology.

That Combs thing was out of line.

But, "The Price Is Right" theme was ranked at #83.

You have a gift for understatement.  That was one of the most insensitive, disgraceful things I've ever seen, and I think even that understates the case.

And so, I see, was the theme to The Sopranos.
There was a two-tie for 83rd, eh? Very well.
By the by, I've e-mailed the good man about his insensitive Ray Combs remark and in due course we shall learn if that bears any fruit.

Well, Don, you seem to have some clout.  I just went to the sight and there's no mention of Ray (just a mention of cinematic sodomy).

In response to my e-mail to him, he did a mea culpa and said he'd remove the remarks. He made an error in judgment, he owned up to it. Moving on now.

Good for him, that was the responsible thing to do. I may check out the rest of the list now.
