Title: Carmen Sandiego
Post by: irismason42 on December 24, 2004, 11:32:14 PM
We all know that Rockapella did the Where in the World version, but what was the music group who sang the Where In Time Is Carmen Sandiego? song?

Don't know why I'm bothering...but they were "The Engine Crew".

The theme song was credited to Sean Altman, the Rockapella founder who defected from the group right around that time.

In case you didn't know, "The Engine Crew" refers to the three on-screen regulars (Jamie Gustis, John Lathan and Alaine Kashian) who were Broadway-trained young actors.

Which was why I never cared for "Where in Time..."

The Greg Lee version, though, was top-notch, and Rockapella was a big part of that success.  They did the "Where in the World..." theme in concerts for years afterward...

Only thing I remember liking about "Where in Time" was when they'd use Angela Lansbury as a joke answer. (Yes, I knew who Angela Lansbury was even though I was about 4 at the time. Actually, when was WITICS on? 1994? 95?)

Where in Time ran from September 1996 to about the spring of 1998.

Ah. Guess I was six then.

Funny. I thought I remembered watching it right before TNPiR. Eh, go figure.

Wasn't most of the run repeats?  Seems to me they only made 65 eps.

(And the set was supposedly sold to the producers of a French Canadian version of the same show.)

There was a set? I thought that was chroma-key?
