There were no special TJW categories by those names...

Here are the ones they did use...

Mystery Category- Choose it, and the question is worth double the value. For example, if you spun one Mystery Category, instead of $50, it would be worth $100. The questions are written on 7 separate cards infront of Jack's podium, and you chose which number question you wanted.

How Low Can You Go- Contestants went back and forth, bidding on how few clues they needed to identify a person, place or thing.

Fact or Photo- Contestant that chooses the category can choose to hear a question about a person, or see the photo of the same person they must identify. Getting the fact or photo wrong means the opponent gets to hear the fact or see the photo, depending on what the first player chose.

Bid Trivia- Just like Bullseye, the player had to answer a certain number of questions of their choice (minimum of 2) in order to win any money. This is an ideal question for the trailing player trying to catch up. Failing to answer any question means the other player has a chance to complete the bid. Some trailing players found this category to be a problem when they didn't bid enough questions to win the game.

Fast Forward- The player that spins this category can keep answering questions, and can stop at any time, but risks losing any money accumulated if answering a question wrong.

You forgot the category stumpers and Take a Chance.

Regarding Stumpers, this category was comprised entirely of questions missed on previous shows, and like the Mystery Category, choosing it was worth double value.

Stumpers was worth an extra $100.
About The Mystery Category, did all seven question cards ever
get used up? Jack was down to his last two on one show I saw.

You asked this back in August.

Does anyone else find laundry lists [not just from this poster] of questions annoying, or is it just me?

I don't recall a "Take a Chance" category on TJW... one category I always liked, although it's not a "special" one was Possible Epitaphs. The writers obviously had fun coming up with those.

My favorite (not just because of the question, but also the contestant's response):

Jack: This band's epitaph might be "No longer Staying Alive", what band is it?

Contestant: The Grateful Dead. (Correct answer of course, The Bee Gees)

How Low Can You Go- Contestants went back and forth, bidding on how few clues they needed to identify a person, place or thing.

Would this be the category with a list of items that all had something in common? For example, I remember one ep. where all the items were a particular type of car ("Mustang...Pinto...Escort."), and the answer of course, was "Ford." IIRC, the contestant had to bid how many they would need to identify the car.

When people finish telling you what an abject idiot you are. Which I suspect might be a while.

That's an interesting judging situation -- obviously because of the "Staying Alive" reference, it's rather obvious, but the contestant's answer is not incorrect.

I thought there was a category called Just One More, similar to a Tic Tac Dough auction, but if the winning bidder did not complete the bid, the opponent only had to give one more answer on the list.

As you command, my liege. Oh, dear! I forgot. I sold the key so I could buy booze. Guess we'll have to keep it open.
Is it my perception alone or did many of those "special" categories that were played on both B&E shows seem to be a reach?

At least the "special" categories [timewasters] on TJW weren't red. Jim Caldwell would have been all over these too.

I've just found out that "Just One More" is the same playing as "Auction" on "Tic Tac Dough."

Maybe perhaps Face-Off and Choose your clues is the same thing as "Seesaw" and "It's a Dilemma, on "Tic Tac Dough."
