I think we mentioned these new slots were on the way a few months back. INteresting how they got Joe G. to do voiceovers on the $ale slots, I guess Jim Perry either was not asked or not interested in doing so. IGT calls it a 70's game show when the 80s $otC logo is seen.
-
I figured more people would recognize the 80's version, no?
-
Depends on your age. I'm 42 and I think of Joe's show first. The 80's \"Sale\" was a remake to me.
-
Well, oddly, I'm 43 and the Jim Perry version would be the first one that pops into my mind. Sure, I remember Joe (and people my age and older might even remember Jack Kelly) but the 80s version is the one that resonates in my mind. Doesn't hurt that I was ON it, of course...
Thing is, I think most people -- especially the older demographic that frequents casinos -- are going to recognize Joe Garagiola as a personality before they recognize Jim Perry, regardless of whether they remember SOTC at all.

Speaking of slots, anyone see the 'Concentration' slot machines in any casinos yet?

Hmmm...Concentration??? who do you think they would get to voice the game, Downs, McMahon, Narz or Trebek?

I'm rooting for Orson Bean.

Don't know if anyone's noticed, but on the page for the $1,000,000 Pyramid slot, there's actually a five-minute video detailing how the game is played. Very cool!

I'm not big on gambling and such, but if that thing sat there and played that nifty music package at me while I played, I'd spend hours in front of it. That and all of the trilons (and Dick Clark!!) just brought a smile to my face. How cool!

I also found a video on the Regis Cash Club slot machine. I expected the game to rip off every possible element and trademark of WWTBAM, but all I saw was that Regis' wardrobe was similar to Millionaire and the Column of Cash (tm) bonus game. Pales in comparison to the $1,000,000 ($25,000!) Pyramid video, IMO.

Well, I'm not a big gambler (can't be, not of age yet...) but that is a very cool slot machine. I like the animation of the trilions. Slightly hypnotic from what I've seen.

Interesting how the FF machines revert back to the original series. I've seen FF slots machines with the current logo (albeit they were \"new\" when Louie was hosting).

I must say I got excited when I saw this post - I thought \"new slots\" meant $ale was moving onto GSN. Alas, it's just gambling.
Ah well.
Cheers,
