Haven't read this update yet, but let me just say: thanks for the next bazillion hours of entertainment! Again! Really a class piece of webitry Mike, and I thank you for it.

A phenomenal job as always, Mike.
(Note to self:
1. Bring a copy of Malcolm to GSC5 for Mike B.
2. Give to Mike near the end of the festivities.
3. Get on the first plane leaving Burbank.)

Aw. At the very least, the main game wasn't all that bad. I don't even think it ranks as one of the ten worst game shows.

Mark was too busy jumping at the opportunity to be snarky to read and find out Paul was referring to Mike's review and not the actual show.

The fact MG 96 didn't make it to air.

I'd like to offer thanks too...now I'll have something to read at work tonite. ;-)
I remember starting a discussion (which unfortunately, I turned into a tense debate) about 2 years back re: an early-80s pilot called "Freeze Frame". Do you know anything about that pilot? I believe it had Jack Clark.

Is this repayment for those wonderful Pyramid categoires at GSC4, Mike? ;)

Nope, sorry, haven't heard of this one.
Thanks for all of the kudos. Remember, if you have a pilot you want reviewed, we can make arrangements. No matter how bad it is, I'll give it a shot (except for this one I won't mention, I've tried, but I just can't sit through it) I have some interesting stuff to trade if you can handle a British or an Australian accent.
And also thanks to bricon for the pre-announcement proofreading.

All I know (from ATGS and/or here) is that there were two pilots done in the early 80s for this movie trivia game show: one with Jack Clark and one with Bob Eubanks. It was not done by a major packager.

Excellent update! One extremely minor nitpick - please excuse me for getting Horanish. :)
I was looking at the MG90 page as well - when it was cancelled, the half-hour didn't go back to the affiliates QUITE yet (this would happen a year later though), first, "Home" expanded to 90 minutes, with its last half-hour taking MG's slot.

A GSPL update is always a wonderful thing. Oddly, I watched many of those pilots last summer with Mike, and I had already forgotten most of them. BTW, his review of Twenty Questions is VERY generous. It's a misguided affair which to my reasonably well-trained eye looked highly scripted in places where even a pilot really ought not to be.

Nah. The Pyramid game was quite funny. Mike deserves big props for creating that. I just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Mike will get Malcolm just because. I think I gave DVD copies of Malcolm to three GSC4 attendees. Oddly enough, three people sent me e-mails the week after the Congreff saying I am Satan's spawn.

Doesn't say much for the Congreff attendees. Some of us figured that out long before you released Malcolm to the world. ;-)

ObMalcolmDefense: I liked Malcolm, dammit. The bonus round format was way too easy, but other than that, it was a decent idea.
-
And I whine and whine about getting episodes to trade (I'm not getting enough) so can write more reviews. One nice person actually obliges, and I forget to review them. I have corrected that error.
So, there are two new ones -- Decisions, Decisions and Now You See It (Jack Clark version). I also found SFW screen grabs for Razzle Dazzle.

And I thought I was the only one. I was a little ashamed to admit it until now, to be honest.

Add me to that list...I thought Malcolm was a cute idea, and certainly not as bad as some other unsold pilots I've seen.

Malcolm doesn't suck for the gameplay. Malcolm sucks for the far-less-cool-than-Max-Headroom cohost. :)

It strikes me that it would have been a better fit for Nick, as opposed to anywhere for adults.
