I guess they found some leftover props from this 2003 GSN promo.

Does Wink nor GSN not remember that he was hosting game shows prior to 1973?

They probably do remember, but maybe GSN didn't want to make Wink THAT old on the promo.

For the very few of you that care about this show, GSN has now moved the first-run airings to Friday nights at 8 PM.

Well Instant Recall doesn't seem to be burning up the ratings on GSN. It supposedly got an 0.1 for its first airing. They'd probably get better ratings acquiring, Debt, High Rollers or any other show that Wink hosted.

They'd probably get better ratings from an infomercial (maybe moreso if Wink were hosting)

Heh...so the "Friday night death slot" now applies to second tier cable game shows as well. ;-)

I just saw this for the first time today, and I gotta say, it was pretty fun.  It seems like it'd do better by not being on GSN though.  I'm not really sure how many people these days actually get the network, let alone watch it regularly.

I saw enough of it to be left bemused. They go to the trouble of having big red buttons on the little stand there, and don't ever use them? The game is three questions and everyone keeps the money earned? That isn't a game, that's people answering questions for money.

Have the first half of the show be the setup (maybe give pop-up clues so that the viewer knows what to look for) and then have the second half be the game. And more than just "which of these was the book cover?" What game show has been made worse by adding a flash round to it?

Sorta like Tic Tac Dough did for quite a few years it seems... :)  Maybe it's just Wink.

Well, it doesn't seem so much of a true game show, but more a parody of one.  In fact, I think that's the appeal.  That everything's so intentionally cheesy and over the top.  Part of the fun is also watching the people get put through strange situations.

It's nothing groundbreaking at all, but something like a last bit of fun for Wink to have before retiring I guess.

If it were simply him doing schtick for commercials (a la the ones he did for Mountain Dew, DiGiorno, or Orbitz), it would be one thing. This show, to me, could've been done with any Hollywood actor who would play the same role on a fictional sitcom game show, and Wink could've escaped the cheesy stereotype of a game show host that he's played for the last 15 or 20 years.

/Now where's that Dragon! The All-New Tic Tac Dough?
//Followed by Lede! The All-New Headline Chasers

You operate under the assumption that he wants to escape that stereotype. It's kept him employed over those last 15 or 20 years
