now that it's out I was refering to the episode GSN ran some years ago from 1973 as the only other episode they've run. They only had the 80's version in regular rotation.

Yes, that was the third episode of '70s Treasure Hunt they've run.  Looks like I'll have to be updating my "What GSN has aired" online list soon!

As someone who's been GSN-less for two years, AGTOT?

After what I've seen so far, here's my Analysis:

#50- Three's a Crowd: How the heck this got on the list is beyond me. Totally inane show.
Most likely because GSN has the rights to it and needed to fill that spot.

Damn, Pat Finn's laugh is annoying.  It sounds like every stereotype of a game show host you've seen in commercials.
Why is it that we dis Pat Finn as being a "stereotype", and then herald Wink Martindale as a freakin' hero? Wink is EVERY SINGLE game-show-host stereotype rolled into one shiny-toothed package.

So basically you're saying that Pat Finn is a better host than Wink Martindale?
I suppose you can still learn stuff on TLC, though it would be more in the Goofus & Gallant sense, that is (don't do what these parents did)"- Travis Eberle, 2012

No, I'm saying that people shouldn't crap on any of Finn's mannerisms when their exists someone who has made his legacy out of exaggerating every one of those mannerisms.

Wow.
When I study for my exams, I don't watch TV.  Interesting study aid, there.

I used to have the TV on all the time in the background when I was doing homework and/or studying for exams.

And all I have to show for it is my high-school diploma. Oh, and a bachelor's degree. Oh, yeah, and an MCSE.

Boy, I wish I was as dedicated and applied as you, Mark. Then, one day, if I worked REALLY hard, I could also be....

Oh, wait.

(Can we put that post in the Archives? I just don't see him topping it.)

Considering that it's an obvious retread of Barris' own "Newlywed Game," with the mildly interesting dynamic of husband, wife and husband's secretary at play (so to speak), I would say it's no more inane than NG - which, I'll admit, isn't saying much, but I haven't posted here in a while.

Good God.  What is it with the constant attacks on Mark?  Did he piss in your gazpacho?

Your argument above is like comparing apples and oranges.  Mark's in college and is at least a decade younger than you.  If he hasn't done anything worthwhile when he's your age, you win.  Otherwise, I hope crow ages as well as a fine wine.

And if that ends up being the case, I'll belly right up to the table and eat it gladly. Until then, I would suggest that he's in no position whatsoever to criticize anyone else's study habits.

I see you have a "NAG NAG NAG" quota on here, too. That's good to know.

And hey, I'm a History Teacher, you know? How about that? I'm guessing all that T.V. does pay off in the end, eh Mark?

But back to the topic a-hand... I wonder if the last 5 epsiodes will be one show per epsiode? Like, #5 will be an hour, then the next day #4 gets an hour. I wouldn't be shocked if it were to happen in the future...

I don't agree with the forum tactics of Chris or Mark all the time, but this is something I brought up to Mark at least twice now. This is equivalent to somebody saying as an aside, "it wasn't a good show, but one I'd keep on while I was making dinner" and Mark replying "Well, I hope you didn't burn down your house trying to watch TV and cook are the same time. Idiot." Chris' reply is way harsher than what mine would have been.

Rather than get this thread closed for random attacks and arguing - STYD is a complete guilty pleasure for me, and one I'd watch often on GSN if they chose to rerun the Lifetime shows. I just missed the boat on getting PAX and only caught a month or so worth of the old shows before they started making new ones. Drat.

BTW, did somebody mention if the whole list was spoiled someplace? It just helps me determine what to tape and what not to tape.

So far, only all of this week was spoiled. I'm sure someone may be able to get next week spoiled aswell.

And from what I've seen on here...you're a poor excuse for a teacher, and probably kids in New York are a pack of idiots.

If TV helps the kid, so be it...but based on his posting history...he might do well to leave it off.
