If I remember correctly, there's a half-hour episode of Greed GSN's never aired because they didn't have a slot for it. Considering they OBVIOUSLY have BTC, it would have been the perfect time to air, and they could have then shown BTC after that.

I'm beginning to understand why this week didn't hit the listings services.

...Well, under *normal* circumstances, the show is only a half-hour long. All the remainder of the Greed episodes run either 1 or 2 hours, and thus can be split into nice hourlong blocks. But there's just no way to air the half hour show in the normal run.

As for last night? Not a clue.

This series is somewhat disappointing. For some reason, I expected a little more depth. Why does "Greed" merit the better part of an hour of airtime and BTC one minute? Every possible show in the top 50 could have been better represented by a short clip with just a little effort on the part of GSN. I understand the desire of collectors for those complete shows, but I don't think we'll be seeing anything too rare from here on out.

Yeah, that disappointed me, too, seeing Beat the Clock only get a minute of acknowledgement. Depending on what they show tonight, I would have much rather they just acknowledged Remore Control, start tonight with Clock, and so on. The show deserved so much more. Didn't even have to show the $64K win if you didn't want to. Any show would've stood on its own as being great.

So far, to date, here's my early thoughts on the first 16 and where they deserved to be...

50 - Three's A Crowd - OFF THE SCALE
49 - Tresaure Hunt - ABOUT THE SAME
48 - Blockbusters - HIGHER
47 - Studs - OFF THE SCALE
46 - Hollywood Showdown - ABOUT THE SAME
45 - Shop Til You Drop - OFF THE SCALE
44 - Truth or Consequences - HIGHER
43 - Tattletales - ABOUT THE SAME
42 - Queen for a Day - ABOUT THE SAME
41 - $1.98 Beauty Show - OFF THE SCALE (Oh GOD!, what were they thinking)
40 - Twenty-One - ABOUT THE SAME
39 - G.E. College Bowl - HIGHER (Did Bill ever find Swarthmore yet? ;-P )
38 - Whammy - ABOUT THE SAME (See? I'm not playing favorites. But I want to see what beats it.)
37 - Greed - ABOUT THE SAME
36 - Remote Control - LOWER (but kinda cool to see it)
35 - Beat the Clock - HIGHER

We'll see where the rest goes.

GSN has found slots for some half-hour Millionaire episodes (including John Carpenter's win), so I don't see why they couldn't sneak that half-hour Greed in somewhere.

And Whammy! should've been off the scale - not so much because it sucks, but because it's a revival. This whole week has been pretty disappointing so far. Hopefully tonight we'll get some goodies.

I think the main difference with Millionaire is that there are many half-hour episodes, and so stringing two together in the usual block is no problem. Greed, on the other hand, only has that one half-hour episode, and so that would leave GSN trying to find something nice to put in the block along with it.

However, I don't see why they couldn't air that half-hour episode along with a half-hour of Millionaire and be done with it; the two shows are clearly related.

At least we'd get to see an episode of Greed not already run 12,564 times...

Right, but there were more than a few half hour eps. ISTR close to 30 during the first few runs. In the case of Greed, there is exactly one half hour show. Where do you propose to put it on a schedule?

I remember a few cases where they placed a half-hour Millionaire after a 90-minute Amazing Race, so there's one possibility.

Couldn't they fill an hour with 1/2 hour of the show (Greed) plus a half an hour of commercials (or haven't the GSN monkeys figured out how to do that yet?)
