There definatly was a limit for a while because I remember a couple champions being retired.  Jack explained they had a limit because of the network affilition of some of the stations.  I thought it was $25,000 however and I'm not completely sure this person has the years 100% correct.

Tic Tac Dough had no limit and I don't think Bullseye did either.

For that one year when "TJW" and "TTD" were on some CBS-owned stations, champs still stayed on until defeated, IIRC, but officially the contestants had to give to charity anything over $50,000.  In other words, over $50,000 and the only attraction for the champ on "TTD" was trying to beat Thom McKee's mark.

That cue for the Peru trip was a stock cue that first appeared during the first syndicated season, before the Hidey package kicked in.  That seemed to be used for ski trips, along with a stock cue leftover from the first syndie season that was always used for Las Vegas trips.

It was nice to see a regular episode of Joker from the more well-known sydnicated version of the 70s-80s Thursday. I hadn't seen much of the run.

That comes up at 1 in 64. Not great odds, but frequent enough that it wasn't a once-a-year thing.

Okay, then you need to explain it better instead of jumping down Seth's throat. You said:

...which is not the same as "three category slides in each of the five categories", which is what you should have said if you wanted to get the point across clearly.

Oh.  Three of each slide PLUS the five jokers.   Now THAT makes *sense*.   Admittedly, knowing that makes "three category slides" per wheel make significantly more sense than how it did when I initially read it, "three total category slides per wheel".

I certainly didn't mean to sound like I was getting up in Seth's business, especially since I can't for the life of me remember anything more about the thread than seeing: "There were twenty slides per wheel. There were three slides for each of the five categories and five jokers on each wheel." 1/4^3= 1/64. If that is indeed the slide makeup. I apologize for the misleading earlier post. This is what happens when you assume that the other guy can read your mind. It's Not Good.

Weird graphics-geekery related to TJW.

Usually on some of the other B&E shows (at least TTD and B-eye), when a champion's total winnings were displayed on-screen (or when showing how much could be won in the end game), they superimposed the winnings, keyed from an eggcrate. I always thought it was tacky and gaudy, but I also noticed that TJW simply displayed the champ's winnings on his scoreboard, and for the end game, they used a Helvetica-style font to show how much the prize package was worth (it looked like an art card instead of chyron).

I've been spending too much time at the TV station. :-P
